    I always look for this and that…
    … but it’s rather hit and miss.

    Pulled into the yard at Fremont and I'm calling it a day. I won't go into detail but bathrooms have become my best friend for much of the afternoon and evening. I'll drop this load across town tomorrow morning and then head to Aurora to get my load home.

    I was in Fremont just a couple days ago and the yard was almost vacant. Now it seems like everyone and their dog are here. Yard is pretty full of trailers with a bunch of trucks sitting around. Although it is the weekend I suppose.

    Well, this was an interesting day.

    Got a call from the new DM. Hey, got you a load from NW Indiana to KCMO but you need to get there by 1700. Looked like I had a 60 minute cushion with Fuel, 30, Drop in between. So I kicked the horse and stayed in the seat (except for a 2 minute pit stop) … but lost some time on the way… skipped the fuel solution, rolled into receiver with 10 on my 8, combined my 30 with the DnH and kept rolling. On the way my next two loads popped. KC to DFW then back to KC… SWEET… I’m set for the holiday weekend… with now a 30 minute cushion… well, Chicago traffic to Indiana absorbed that cushion. And I pull into the next shipper exactly at 1700. Whew!!! Cut the Close.

    BUT… Shipping left at 1600… lol The last loader left 10 minutes before I rolled in… LOL

    And there went my weekend plans… poof, up in smoke!!!

    But I put on the charm and got the Manager on Duty to talk to the Supervisor on Duty… who then said it would be Tuesday at the earliest… {kicked the charm to 11}

    Supervisor ended up calling the Owner to explain we were told by the Broker to get there by 1700 which I did.

    30 minutes later the Supervisor himself is going to load me… lol

    I thanked him MULTIPLE times and he said it’s been a few years since he loaded anything so I best scale it before going too far. (Scaled Legal)

    so I’m ready for my next 26 hour holiday weekend run… then noticed I was down to 22 hours with nothing coming around for three days. So looks like Chicago to KC+ tomorrow then on to DFW on Sunday and a 34 in DFW for the holiday.

    So where’s a good place hang out in DFW?

    Once in Texas, it's a crapshoot. I'd recommend staying in Oklahoma. There's a gambling hall + truck stop at the border.

    BigR and IH9300SBA Thank this.

    I’ll take a look. I’m not sure that I’ll have the hours to go get the next load on the south side and then get back up to OK, but, with two recommendations, it’s worth a shot.

    bzinger, BigR and IH9300SBA Thank this.

    Ugh, how many miles are on that truck? Absolutely ridiculous all the stuff you’ve had go wrong since you started. Hopefully things will get squared away shortly.
