No, our welds are not subjected to any testing. And yes, penetration is the exact issue... Heavy manipulation of the puddle that causes very defined ripples causes the penetration profile to do the exact same thing... Ripple. This causes stress points within the structure that are prone to breaking. The engineer said alot of this has come from the whole "stacking dimes" craze caused by social media... Stacking dimes is a tig welding slang term, outside of tig stacking dimes is not a good thing. But many, MANY, amateur welders dont understand that.

Speaking of ankle monitors. My daughter just entered the 7th grade. There is a boy there that has an ankle monitor! And this isn’t the inner city school. Ridiculous.

 

Social media ruins everything. I watch welding videos on YouTube just for the comments.

 

Habitual pot smoker??? Went to school with a few that got them after having failed probation 2+ times for smoking pot.

 

The missus tells me all the time that I am too judgmental, but I'm standing my ground on face tats.

 

There are some AMAZING welders on social media... But, unfortunately, there are 100 times more hacks than legit welders.
