I had a fireman taken from me in 2012 that was related to a PFA. I tried getting it back 4-5 years later after everything expired but got nowhere. I gave up.

A few weeks ago I get a letter that the county still has it and I can make arrangements to pick it up. I go to the sheriff’s office yesterday and the guy I need to talk to wasn’t there. I can already see how this is going to go.

He calls today. Because the way the law is written. I have to petition the court and show up at a hearing to get it back. That was not stated in the paperwork. The PFA expired in 2015. I got my CC permit back and was allowed to purchase firearms since then.

But since this was tied to a PFA I have to jump through hoops and prove myself……while I can go purchase guns all day long. What a crock of ####.
