So the problem was that one of the slack adjusters was missing a part and a couple of bolts and some of it was bent, and it was engaging that particular brake sometimes. Not hard, but enough to heat it up. The mechanic fixed me up real good and even threw in a trailer inspection and four new tires on the deal.

I got out of there with just enough time to get to the store before they stopped receiving. Drove 6 1/2 hours with no stops, so I feel like I could be a bull hauler named Iron Butt McGinty now.

By the way, I get another safety point for having a trailer inspection done, which puts me at 11 or 12 total. One time I asked a lady in Safety how many points I needed for a free accident. She was just like the missus, no sense of humor about certain things.

I'm finally parked. I love the Opti-Idle™ system. I know a lot of drivers hate it, but I love it. Much better than attaching a lawn mower motor to the truck that I have to maintain and that won't put a dent in the heat in the summer.

BUT there are problems. Like tonight when it is HOT outside (72° F) and I put it on Comfort Mode™ and it starts up and blows HEAT. Wtf I want AC not heat! Why can't I be trusted to have a knob or a switch that tells the #### thing what to do instead of just having to accept whatever some ####### engineer thought I would want?

Frankly I think the real problem is the computer on this truck is starting to go. It just passed 400,000 miles so it is getting ready to die just after 500,000. At least I have a fan.

I woke up about an hour ago. Keri and her family got here late yesterday afternoon. Keri is up changing Bethany's diaper. Gosh, that critter has got big. Hard to believe she is almost 6 months old. They are planning the physical move to be on Thursday. I already started packing. I have all my important papers in a packing box ready to go to the new apartment today when we get up there to measure for curtains etc. I am going to miss this place. I most likely won't be online much for the rest of the week.

Good News about the "misplaced" F-35

It was found, although destroyed, in a field North of Charleston in rural Williamsburg County, SC. The Aircraft didn't go far after the Pilot ejected because Williamsburg County is only 60 miles from Charleston

Not an opti idle man. The OM doesn’t like it either.

The part that gets us is when the truck shuts off. It shakes just like someone shaking you to wake up. And that's what we do.

Get a TK. It's a whole different trucking universe with a TK tri-pac.

I've had a tri-pac on a couple of different trucks. That's how I got to know the ThermoKing repair guy off of McCarty Street in Houston. And the ThermoKing dealer south of the Pilot in Sioux City. And the ThermoKing place off of Buckeye Road.

The shaking doesn't bother me. I sleep pretty good.
