The sealant that you chose not to end up wearing looks reel good on your walkway.

then don’t go around talking #### about how great your settlements are and how you are going to buy a new Camaro. But, I guess that wouldn’t stroke an ego now would it?

Well if I'm reading the room correctly it's doom and gloom off of the load board. So I'm either thinking that you have to schmooze with the brokers and get the inside track on good loads or set load alerts at a particular pay level and pray to the trucking gods something pops and you have a fast trigger finger.

I’m not with LS. I am independent. It will be difficult at the start. You will be left with the scraps at first. Once you make connections and do a good job they will begin to call you and offer work before it hits the board. Until then you will just have to grind it out. Dave is correct. He is your competitor and so is every other BCO. You don’t have to be the best, just better than them. In this way LS is the same as being independent. Good luck!

I totally get he's the competition, wouldn't expect him to be giving out brokers phone numbers or exact info on loads... just sounded to me like the guy was wanting to know if he was reading their load board right. Yes, it is a cut throat world when it comes to business, but it used to be a brotherhood out here too. Don't expect him to take food off his table, but I don't think a little advice here and there would do that either. Who knows, maybe he did PM him, if so good on him. I just thought the response was pretty crappie after he helped the guy make a decision to go there.... y'all may find this hard to believe, but I got nothing against Dave personally, ( don't tell him that) I get a kick out of the back and forth jabs, as I imagine he does too... I just think if you're gonna put yourself out there, posting settlement pics and talking LS up to recruit someone, follow through after they sign on. After all this fourm is supposed to be here so we can help each other out. Just my 2 cents..

Sounds about right. I mean if you're going to recruit someone, you should take the time to help them on board.
But, hey, different people operate in different ways.
