I’m kind of partial to that porta ####ter. I think it’s the same one we’ve had for years. After hours access to the bathroom and eventually a shower is coming.
that stuff by the fence is for the project next door. Once that’s gone we can fit a bunch more trailers it we angled the back row and the side row. That way we can park all the way into the corner. There are a few brand new soft spots too. Cost me a mudflap and bracket on a trailer I was dropping. Just trying to keep the mechanic busy.
when you picked up that preload, did you leave straps for the local guy to replace the ones on the load? If so where did you leave them? Just curious. I’m trying to come up with a proposal to get a container like they have in CA. We could store our big tarps, regular tarps, abd padding on one end. Chains straps and binders on the other end.
right now there is a pallet sitting behind the shop. A lot of drivers don’t leave replacement gear for what gets left on the load. That makes the load as unstrap everything they bring back. Some guys dump the gear on a random trailer in the yard. The then others see that gear and put more #### on that trailer. Last week a got assigned to the dumping ground trailer. There was almost an entire set of chains on that trailer.
if we make a clearly labeled, organized place for drivers to leave equipment, they might use it.
I’m curious what other companies do for after hours equipment exchange. @Winnyf1 @stwik @FerrissWheel any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Is that lot on the corner that they're working on gonna be where they're gonna put the Love's you mentioned a while back? -
The loves is going to be at 21st and I-135. There’s still some ongoing protests about breaking up the neighborhood and bringing prostitution to the area. Talking to the long time local residents at the yard, that neighborhood is where the prostitution is in Wichita. I don’t think they want the competition.
Here’s the neighborhood they dont want disturbed.
Next door to the yard is going to be a Fastenal and some other industrial supply store.
The Manac stretch flats have such a solid mudflap that it took the angle iron bracket most of the way off in the process. If only their rubrails were as solid as the mudflaps.Lonesome, supersnackbar and Oxbow Thank this. -

Pilot in Mobile Al. Homeless asked for $2 to get a 40oz beer. I gave him $5 so he could get 2. Lol
Friend, hope not dumb twucker, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
I am curious which local driver had my trailer preloaded for me. I am pulling a step, only have 29k lbs, and less than 3/4 of the lower deck is used, but they still chose to put 2 pallets on the upper deck. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful that they preloaded my load, but don't understand why they didn't fill the lower deck before using the upper deck. It's all going to the same place and is mostly smaller square crates, none of the long sheet or long 18" extrusion products. Keeping it all on the lower deck would have made it easier to tarp, and would've made the tarp job look better, I have never been good at making the transition of the upper deck to the lower deck look right when using 1 tarp across both. I could have used my center tarp for the upper and my 2 end tarps for the lower, but where I am delivering can get crowded and have limited space to fold your tarps on the ground, 1/2 of the time you have to fold them on the load, so I tried to limit how many tarps I have to mess with.

I got a tip from another driver that we had some felt hiding in the back of our padding container. Well not anymore. Me and that 40x40 are going to get well aquatinted tomorrow morning. Loading a 17’6” wide going to SC. Via a 2100 departure, not my favorite time to get on the road.Last edited: Dec 10, 2023

And it looks like a stereotypical PNW day up there. Hopefully you'll get out before the next storm dumps on the mountain.
Is your old truck still sitting where you left it. I know every time I have been up there it hasn't moved, but it's been a few months since I've visited corporate. -
my old truck was gone for a long time but it’s back now. I think it was at the dealer for repairs. I brought it over the finish line sideways and on fire!
I know they are starting to sell them, one of its sister trucks was getting stripped in Wichita. The buyer was waiting to pick it up. I saw another one pulling a container last time I was up here. -
