Hello everyone. I’m trying to get on with fcc . But the recruiter will not tell me anything about pay or benefits until I put an app in . I don’t want to put in an app and alert my current company . Will anyone help me with some info regarding pay ? I have 2.5 years and clean record . How well do you guys like it and if there’s anything you dislike . TIA!

They don't just pay the same starting rate for everyone. The pay is based on actual recent experience, and they can't give you a concrete number until that is verified. If you are looking for the highest rate per mile you can get, you may not find it here. But, if you want a company that will back you up 100%, as long as you do your job, well.... welcome aboard. This company does do the fuel optimization thing, but they are HIGHLY flexible. They won't force a specific route on you. If you like taking back roads across the mountains, or the desert... as long as it's a legal route, they will alter the routing. As long as you don't make a habit of running a ton of excess miles, and make delivery and pickup appts, you will never hear a word about it. The best way I can describe this company is that they have the resources and support a larger carrier has, but will leave you alone to do your job if you prove you can run your truck independently, without a lot of handholding.

Struck up a conversation with a local shag driver in the drivers lounge. He mentioned he just brought in a Columbia load from Aurora. Decided it wouldn’t hurt to call dispatch and ask if I could get that load instead of the Four Oaks load. Columbia is 92 miles from my house compared to Four Oaks and which is 217 miles, and would require an additional 10 hour break. They agreed, so now instead of getting home late Christmas Eve, I should be home that morning.

Sitting here at the Costco in Brookshire, TX. For a huge DC, reviews online are very positive about the place. Usually people spend god knows how long at large grocery warehouses.

After unloading, I will head over to the Walmart DC in Baytown to pick up a preloaded trailer going to KCK for tomorrow. Unsure of whether or not I’ll pick up another load or just head home after that. Regardless I should be home by tomorrow afternoon

Costco has their shat together, other grocery DCs could learn a thing or two from their model.

My .02 cents, this company isn’t perfect, but they are the best I have been associated with in my 29 years out here. They have the miles and the customer relationship to keep us busy, even when other companies are struggling to keep their drivers busy. You are truly treated like a person here, not just a number. If you do your job like is expected they will bend over backwards to help you.
