FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

Well, me and ol’ blue are going to be up in Fremont on Tuesday for orientation and an inspection. I had to think it over for a few days after I talked to them, but @bzinger assured me the world won’t end because they won’t let me pay for my own color matched lettering, plus when I said I only want to run about 100k a year or so they said it wouldn’t be an issue.

I've seen O/O trucks in the fleet that didn't have FCC's colors on their signage. Hard to believe they'd squak about that if your paying for it.

Ended up staying at some parking area before Monteagle Mountain. Started at 3 am this morning to get here to PepsiCo in Lithia Springs, GA. After getting unloaded here, I will head back up to Dalton to grab a preloaded trailer for the Menards DC in Valley. Hoping to get up to Fremont by Sunday, drop that load Monday morning, then grabbing another load heading back out. I want to beat the winter storm that’s forecasted to come through if I can.

 

I asked and was told it was a no go. White isn’t going to look bad, I’m just picky. I can understand why a company of their size would want to do it at their shop. It’s not a stretch to think someone could get in an accident on their way to orientation.

But ya, I can see the concern over the color matching letters. Hard call there.

 

Well, my two full weeks with wife on board was trimmed down in the beginning so she could be with family on Christmas and we got home a couple days early but there really wasn’t time to get us back to Omaha and then back home again before she needed to be back to work on Monday. So we got home last night after taking a Broker Load to SC.

I’ll be here for the weekend and then roll back out Monday.
