I’d have just two words, the second being “that”.

Does the company punish you every time the Nagging Nancy speaks up? Or is it a matter of just having Nagging Nancy speak is the issue? I'm asking you to distinguish between the verbal event and real punishment, not just something you imagine the company could do if they were robotically marking each event as a driver failure.

I don't think anyone is saying your should enjoy hearing the verbal "corrections", but lots of modern trucks have the alarms and notices, just not verbal ones. The only way to stay away from that is to buy your own truck, or work only where they don't have this gear in operation. Almost every company will fire you if you tamper with safety-sensitive equipment. So don't consider that, please.

Lot's of safety equipment is SOLD rather than bought. That's to say some engineer notices "you know our sensors for equipment installed for this other purpose can also be used for a new purpose, especially if we add this other thing. If THIS plus THAT are common in this bad situation, then a warning when the system notices THIS + THAT can be used to prevent the bad situation." A salesman sees a chance to sell something and the insurance company thinks preventing one or two bad situations per truck per year would save us tons of money, so lets do it." The industry has long ago learned to discount complaints from truck drivers.

I drive for a worldwide fortune 200 company and any new technology that's promoted as safer or productivity oriented is immediately purchased and installed without regard for whether it actually works or is even applicable to our operation..
We are the R&D department of said firms.
Buy we have an above average compensation package so we continue to develop this crap for future generations of steering wheel holders..
Apologies to those who ain't but are saddled by the technology.

I have learned to ignore the irritating voice. I normally drive with the stereo belting out Merle Haggard, G. Strait, Jones etc.
It does have the bad habit of telling me to put on my seat belt even though it’s on.
But as I said before, dirty up the lens, she usually shuts up. (Kinda like backhanding a mouthy broad). :D

I work for a large ltl. I agree that it’s sold to companies. They also get paid per event they review for the company. Big money maker. They now have some sort of AI reviewing the clips. Our driver/trainer has been getting clips for bumps and other silliness. They have now stopped or set the threshold very high so only severe events get reviewed.

I think this the key to these systems. They have to be calibrated or it just turns into the boy that cried wolf.
