All depends how well the particular unit in question was operated/maintained. There is no one single 'best make and model' for every purpose - this is why some fleets will have freightliners, some volvos, some choose paccar, a few still operate hoods, every situation is different. Also depends what the purpose for the truck is. Flatbed/oversize? Primarily operating in mountains? Flat land only? Pulling a dry box? City unit hauling cans from port short distance? You get the idea.

I would focus more on the drivetrain. BTW, how long have you been in this industry ?

It’s not cascadia vs columbia that has reliability.
They’re just names.
Be like saying which is more reliable, Tahoe or Expedition.austinmike and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -

Ok I'll go here. Columbia has no emissions? So it's one system not to have to fix? Or do some come with emmisions?

If you aren’t going to go into California, a DDEC IV S60 Columbia is the route to go. Cheap to maintain and fix. You’ll also find out about a $1 fix that can solve the rest of the issue you might have. I just can’t name it on this board.
austinmike Thanks this. -
Neither, for a city truck? Mack, no question.

What happened to the 03 Columbia you had?
Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -
Which City?
