    Hello again :D

I finally received my CDL exam date! it's this Wednesday and I'm super excited!!

I also received an employment offer from Werner, for a team driving position. I just need to update them AFTER passing my CDL... which hopefully happens :p lol-

I'm not sure how Werner is to work for and I don't have anyone that I can team up with.

Does anyone here have experience with Werner? How about being matched up with a team? I did search the site for postings about Werner, but just wanted to ask again..

I'm a bit nervous about the team driving aspect BUT I think it might be a good idea when in my first year.?

I'm open to any feedback or suggestions that anyone may have. Thanks in advance- :):D

Oh and Werner has a team matching program that will be matching me up with someone- I'm not sure how that works exactly but I forgot to mention this in my original post-

Take the deal. Werner has a cache of drivers in their pool who are looking to pair up. You could either use their system to find someone based on preference (location/gender/smoker-non/experience) or wait til orientation to find a potential codriver within your group. As far as the exam, you'll do fine.

    Michelle33 Thanks this.

Not yet. Werner is the first company to make me an offer, while still being a student driver. I have a few that I'm wanting to call after I pass my CDL test-
I want to start a pros and cons list of what they offer me, so I can make a well informed decision. I plan on staying with whoever I go with for the long haul- hopefully anyways- :)

God team driving with Werner. Most people are scared of who they get as a trainer and only have to be stuck with them for a few weeks. Imagine being stuck with someone indefinitely. Ugh.

Look around, you can do better than Werner. I think starting out team driving is about as hard as it gets. I can't sleep in a truck bouncing down the road, so if you don't think you can, tell Werner to get bent.

Anywhere but Werner. They are the bottom of the barrel. She can go to Crete (not great but better than Werner), she could go to Ozark (if she doesn't mind driving nights and days and flipping back and forth actually is a pretty #### good company that takes drivers with no experience) She could go to Swift, believe it or not, and they are better than Werner. Swift drivers who haven't wound up in a ditch have stated numerous times that they aren't terrible to drive for. There are lots of companies that hire newbies.

Swift? That's bottom of the barrel imo.
She's gotta put some time in at one of these companies. None of them are gonna coddle a new driver. Everybody and their mom has something bad to say about every company out there, but she'll ultimately have to decide on something post-certification. I know that Werner is levels above the company that I got my first 8 months in with.

Have you ever spoken with a Swift driver? I've spoken personally with many of them. I personally WORKED for Ozark, who I quit because they didn't care that I was driving tired. I've spoken with Crete drivers, as well. Swift drivers were actually the happiest. Swift has a bad reputation because they'll hire newbies and they have over 16000 trucks on the road. But they aren't the worst of the worst, by far. That would be JB Hunt, Werner and Schneider. (sp?)
