No such thing as stated value. So I’ve been told. Changed that about 20 yrs ago. Replacement cost based on current market. In 09 I got an extra $4k payoff because I showed $23k inframe 6 mos prior. I had spent 30k+ Everything on the Truck was new. Payout was $21k. No need to over insure. Unless it’s a negligible amount. Better to save the premium, and rely on your own self insurance/savings to cover any gap or shortcomings. The real cost is downtime as we all know.

My 2 cents. Stick with Great West if possible. Towing coverage can make all the difference especially a catastrophic accident. That alone can make or break you. I’ve had a great experience with Northland. A couple minor incidents had no effect on premiums at all. Lenient payment terms. They’ll work with you if you’re late on a payment. I’ve asked different adjusters over the years. They all agree, Great West. Best payout amounts in the best timeline. I had planned on switching to Great West myself. I’m out of the game now. Good Luck.

Yes, I'm happy with Great West. If the savings aren't astronomical with someone else, then I'm sticking with them. The two towing events in my first year probably would have cost me well over $4,000 out of pocket if I didn't have coverage. I ended up paying only $250 for each tow. I mean, how much do you reckon a 140-mile tow costs?

    Did you retire?

I don't understand your post. You mean you can't replace your KW for $25k? What is the book value of it?

Dont know, but only 116k on new in frame, Its always high when you go to buy, but cheap and noone wants yours.
Even in cars, if you sales v8, everyone wants a 4 cyl.
    Sale a 4 or 6, everyone wants v8.
    Just an old salesman trick

You have a good valid point if you need those extra services. I don’t t sweat it. Never been in that kind of predicament. I figured all those decades I’ve save on insurance without those extra services, if one incident should arise where I need to get a tow, I would still be ahead. I carry with me most of the necessity to get me back incase of a breakdown. Been in it long enough to now what to carry. @gekko1323, take this advice from @Rideandrepair, I’m sure it will give you peace of mind that your covered if these extra services should arise in your time of need.;)

Are you still doing the lower 48 or are you more local now?

Always been local, I don’t want to give “Sancho” an opportunity to drop in my bed if I’m gone overnight ;)

That's funny. That actually happened to me back in 2012 in Cutler Bay, Fl. I was gone from the house for two weeks. When I came back, I noticed that my key wouldn't open the door. I looked in through the living room window and I noticed there were new drapes. So I called my sister (it was her house) and asked her if she had changed the locks and drapes. She said she hadn't. So I parked my car three blocks away where I could still see the house and waited. I finally grew impatient and called the cops. The cops came and knocked but no answer. So three units and six cops parked outside and waited. About 20 minutes later, an African American lady slowly drove past and looked. But she kept going. Pretty soon the hubby showed up. Anyway, long story short, a whole Hatian family had moved into my house. They claimed they rented it from someone, blah, blah, blah. The cops gave them until the end of the day to move out. I relented and let them stay until the next day because I felt bad putting the whole family out. But they were part of the scam. Answer me this: If you are coming home after work, and you see three cop cars surrounding your house, wouldn't you park and get out to see what the heck is going on? The lady DIDN'T. She drove past because she KNEW the gig was up and she needed to call hubby to give him the heads-up and figure out how to handle it.

DeSantis just signed a law targeting these scamming squatters. Good ole' Florida.

You was lucky they moved out. These days once there’re in, they have more rights than the owner. Squatters……
