I did 550 once with a 53’ Durango to Montrose. Very bad decision but at least it was summer and a very light load.

I've done 14 from Lovell to Sheridan. That is an awesome drive. Much steeper than any other pass I've done, and switchbacks are tight for a truck.

I think it says the grades are 9%. My truck runs strong, and I dropped into the low side pulling up

This is the sign posted heading south on Us50 - August last year. I was running Telluride from Grand Junction at that time.

So, if the state feels a need to post that, it might be a good indicator.

But hey - sometimes it’ll be the most alive you’ve felt in a while.

Thanks for the route, was figuring that was the best way around. Load wasn't worth going after anyway.

Haha, I hear ya. Thought it might have been some good scenery. Would have been empty so traction was more of a question than anything.

Over Lizard Head is a nice drive too. Plenty quiet for a good nights rest too

I'll put that on my list to check out. Took Utah 128 south of I70 last week. Good thing the traffic was minimal, that's definitely some great scenery but I wouldn't go north on it. To many places the hillside is over the lane at bunk level.
