Well, my DM forgot I was low on hours so the load he assigned me to get out of Texas was a no go. So I’m going to be hunting a place to turn into a pumpkin for 34 hours. For lack of a better idea probably heading to Hempstead, TX. I have family in Waco and that’s the closest place within an hour of where I’m emptying out. (There’s a Loves near where I am emptying out but it’s always full, there’s another Love’s 7 miles closer than Hempstead but I figure 7 miles is within my reasonable discretion). It’d be nice to know what direction they are going to want me to go ultimately so I could go that way, but that’s not happening so I picked the direction I liked.

Looking for a microwave oven recommendation. My microwave cabinet is quite sizable. What kind do you have and what makes it a good choice? Thinking of getting one with an air fryer in it but I'm thinking it would get too hot, being in the cabinet.

i have a 700 watt el cheapo walmart special in my truck and it does okay. i have a 900 watt Hamilton Beach microwave at home and it does better, and it’s also bigger. I can’t even cook a bag of popcorn with the one in my truck because it’s too small, but i’m too lazy to lug microwaves in and out. You can run pretty much any microwave oven off the inverter, but i’d recommend starting the truck before using it. Because they draw a lot of power and your APU probably won’t keep up with the power demand

New Love's going in just north of Wichita around 21st St, supposed to be opening by year end. And some development outfit got 90 acres annexed in to the city south of Salina at Water Well exit 88. News said it was for a travel plaza. I'm guessing Love's or 24/7. Tony's Pizza will be a major draw once they get their new robotic freezer operational. Supposedly Schwan's makes Chinese food in ND? and they'll ship it to Salina for storage before sending it to it's final destination. There is already a lot of truck traffic going to Tony's, so someone has a great captive audience on that corner.

Hasn’t Schwann’s always had a presence in Salina? Back in the day Jim Palmer was tied up with them and his trucks always said Missoula MT and Salina KS on the door.

And if we’re voting I’m hoping for a Loves at that exit. 24/7 used to be decent but I can take them or leave them anymore.

@Gretchen's Dad if you like I recommend downloading the app COTrip Planner. They are great with updates and road conditions, and offer traffic cams. A friend of mine went to Climax CO yesterday and the chain law was up on 70 before the tunnel. I’ve seen some of the worst snow up there in March and April. But if you keep an eye on things you’ll be fine. It’s a beautiful drive.

If you don't mind going through Provo Canyon, it's a bit less than that. Plus the view is better. Just make sure you don't miss the turn where 189 splits from US40 in Heber City.

I moved here in 2012, so I'm not sure how long they've been here. I spoke with our Asst City Manager 3 weeks ago about some nonsense the City was trying to pull and he mentioned this latest expansion is $660M and they had to fight with Marshall, MN to get it.....tax abatements of course, lol.

Several bobtails/reefers use Wal-Mart during the day while waiting. Some days they take over that entire area by the Auto Center.
