Anyone heading down south I-57 in Illinois has signs up that it will be closed at MM 54 (about 10 miles north of the I-24 split) 4/14 19:00 to 04/15 07:00

Came out of the house on Thursday and have been fairly busy. Picked up at Distributor’s Terminal in Terre Haute and was told it was a pickup window from 07:00 to 13:00, which puzzled me since they have always been appointments before. Got there about 7:15, they don’t open until 8 officially (they open the door about 7:45), so cooled my heels for half an hour then went in. I was apparently a 13:00 appointment, so they told me to park in the drop lot and expect to wait a while. Fortunately it turned out to be be less than hour before they called. As usual they loaded very quickly.

Went to Ford Storage in Omaha. I’ve done this load twice before and they sent me to their overflow warehouse north of Omaha both times. So I went in a little over an hour before my appointment so I could get to the other location before my appointment time. I guess they have changed their operation up and going forward those loads will be offloading at their main warehouse. They had me in a door and empty within an hour. I think we do a number of these loads so I wanted to pass on the 411.

I’m on my way to Columbia, SC to a Mars warehouse I haven’t been to yet, then heading to Claremont, NC to get some metal trim so the good people of Cedar Rapids, Iowa can properly accessorize their homes.

The only Cat I drove for any length of time was a C13. That thing gave Mercedes a run for most gutless motor.

that Mars facility in Columbia is easy peasy. Only problem is that the last 15 or so miles to the outskirts of Columbia on I-26 is a disaster of a construction zone with way too much traffic traversing it, so take your time going through it
