I've heard many, many stories like this. There is a guy that I was talking to that is doing the same thing that I want to do and he basically told me the same story you just did. He had, like, a dozen trucks. Dump all of them except one for him and one for his wife. The help didn't care, it was costing him money, and was sick the the drama. I've planned that if I buy a second truck, it will be a spare for if #1 goes down so I can keep rolling.

Well, some, maintenance cost on 1 truck doubled, he didn’t show up the last time, and will not be back.
Other truck had an older driver in it, no problems, I already had the trucks, i am in process of trying to downsize back to one.

This actually takes more time then buying more.

I'm looking to get my first truck (have experiance as trucker just not as o/o) I know this is a long shot but, anyone know anyone who will hire me as a new o/o. I'm leaning toward doing flatbed but I'd be willing even to do household goods moving, tarping etc.

I'm leaning towards just getting my own M/C and running my own loads due to a lack of options but it sure would be nice to give a % away to have someone dispatch me and run under their M/C.

If anyone knows a good company to work for lemme know. Thanks.

So many people want to get into trucking as an O/O but if more people post true numbers people would reconsider. Great info
