So I have an open ended question for my fellow drivers.

When I was helping with the beta testing on the tablets I suggested preloading a few app that all drivers could use or might benefit from having on the tablet. We were open during the beta test but I knew (assumed) they would be locking down the system during rollout.

I suggested a handful of Apps like Luna Training so those with smart phones only could sign in and make use of the larger screen of the tablet. The CAT Scale App was another one that I thought might have mass appeal for those using it. Others didn’t make the cut.

I’m collecting a list of App Suggestions that they might want to preinstall on the Tablets that might be beneficial to us using the new technology.

I think a simple free notes app might be nice to track our next shop visit or track the PO for the truck wash, etc. many might already have their own ways of tracking this info but it might be nice to have within the tablet too.

The other one I think might be beneficial is some basic Radar App to help us plan our trips or just see what we are running into.

Again, many might already have this area covered with personal tech but it might be nice to have the radar up on the tablet screen as we approach the problem areas or to see how close we are to getting through it. Instead of juggling personal tech.

So, after we all have had some time on the tablets, are there any Apps that you think would be beneficial to drivers enough to have it preloaded on the tablets? Need not be used by all as they might prefer using their own tech or options but I thought I’d open it up to the group to see if we might collectively come up with some good ones.

    Thanks.

    Knucklehead and dwells40 Thank this.

I'm happy if the POS will function as a log book!!..no need to put unnecessary crap on it that'll slow it down even more

Opened up the back of the trailer to unload this stuff and saw it was stacks of cardboard. When i was driving a pumpkin truck, i was on a dedicated Georgia Pacific account for about 4 months hauling nothing but cardboard to customers in Michigan and Ohio. Occasionally Indiana, a few loads to Chicago, and an oddball run to Lenexa, KS one time

    Ok. Thanks for the feedback.

If it worked for you as a log book, what else do you think you would benefit from having on a tablet with internet connectivity?

What tech, if any, do you currently use? Do you have a smartphone or tablet or laptop that is already filling this need?

    Again, thanks for the feedback.

Since I started in January I’ve never used any app on the tablet other than the log. I already have the Cat Scale app and other ones I use on my phone.

    Ok. Thanks for your feedback.

So, for you, the use of apps and info is already being filled on your phone.

Would the availability of the larger screen be of use to you? Like the weather/radar option mentioned above?

    Thanks for responding.

I have my phone and iPad so personally I would not be likely to use the tablet for anything other than a log.

I could see how a weather app could be a benefit to some even if I wouldn’t use it.

    MidWest_MacDaddy and bzinger Thank this.
