You signed paperwork when you started at the company. I can almost guarantee you signed paperwork saying you read the notice that you would be fined if you did X. Now you are being fined. This is why you ALWAYS TALK TO CURRENT DRIVERS AT A COMPANY BEFORE YOU WORK FOR IT. The fine may or may not be legal, I'm not a lawyer. I have no idea which state laws apply or if it's Federal law.

Don't sign documents you don't read. MAYBE the company can take the money out of your paycheck over several weeks or months. The lesson I would learn from your situation is tell your dispatcher what your plan is before you enact it so at least there is time to change it if the plan isn't going to work or you misunderstand. 50 years ago people could build spaceships to go to the moon. Now, people are afraid to talk on a phone.

If you signed something agreeing to it they can deduct from your wages in Wisconsin. Faulty work, damage and theft for a few.

Even if it was the fault of the driver manager not updating the system? How can I prove she is at fault?

They can deduct it, then it would be up to you to prove otherwise. I'm a carrier in WI, pm me the company name. Good chance I know them and how they do things.

WI/CA have no tax reciprocity. Are they with-holding WI state tax or CA state tax?

    77fib77 and Siinman Thank this.

You don;t have to prove WHO made the mistake or HOW they made the mistake. You only need to prove your info was what you say it is. Your pics of the various screens/messages can may be used to prove you didn't make the mistake. The company can track down the who/how. Your goal is to just get that fine off of you.

    Siinman Thanks this.
