At the safety meeting this morning, Erik A. said that it is typically slow in early July because a couple of our large accounts take a week off around the 4th of July and takes them awhile to ramp back up. So we've hit bottom and freight should bounce back soon. Broker loads are a ways and means to keep us rolling. I gotta believe the high brass know what they're doing. Keep the faith, gang.

I took a look at my load paperwork that i keep. Barring that El Paso load i took the other day, the last time i hauled a broker load was way back at the beginning of May. Even when going out to California i’ve had contract freight coming back east

Point of interest for FCC drivers. The batch of Utility trailers they got ‘off-spec’ (81xx with disc brakes and the skinny back step) have an unused slider pin hole in the bogie about a third of the way back on each side. About gave me a cardiac when I slid the tandems this morning and then found a hole with no pin in it.

Does anyone know if Kawasaki in Maryville MO receives 24 hours, or what their receiving hours are? Only thing I can find is they ship 24 hours. I didn’t know if they took things anytime, or just got rid of things. Thanks.

Hooked a trailer in KC this morning ran it up to St. Joe live unloaded it. Bounced down to Harrisonville and live loaded pallets, ran them up to Maryville and live unloaded those. Came back to KC and hooked a trailer for Mars in Lancaster for tomorrow. 12 tons in the box so it shouldn’t be a bad ride down south. Came home for the night and will leave out tomorrow. A night squeaked in at home takes the sting out of a sub 500 mile day.
