Holy crap, I can see why you left. Gross pay on my pay stub for the last week of December 2018 was $79,001. Back then I went home for 5 - 6 days every 6ish weeks. This year, 6 years later, I am on pace to make the low to mid 80's running more miles, and only taking 5 days at home every 8-10 weeks...plus the tarping and chaining/strapping of general freight. 2019's paystubs were all jacked up because of the transition to Wylie started in the 3rd quarter, then they started doing the payroll similar to how it's being done here (only they fired all but 1 person in Moore's payroll department and everything went totally Wylie, no more statements from Moore).

That was 2013-14. It might have even been slightly less. I left Maverick for a job making 41600 a year salary working “local”. I was supposed to run from kc to Omaha or Des Monies (400-450 miles) most days and occasionally run down to Oklahoma or our other yard south of St. Louis(600-660 miles.) I rarely went to Omaha and almost always ran to Oklahoma. 650 miles a day in a day cab for 800 a week was not worth it. I got lucky and found SPD and haven’t looked back.

Will deliver this load tomorrow morning and was already told to head for the Toledo yard after I am empty. Not sure if that's so I can wait for a load there or if they have something in the works. I hope they don't swap my conestoga for a tarpable open deck then send me to get a elevator load. That would suck sewer sludge

Maybe you will get an empty wing trailer going to Wichita. It’s not a QuickDraw load but it’s even easier. Pre-secured, yard to yard, don’t even have to unsecure on the other end.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

Picked up a flatbed and some tarps, heading to Cleveland to pick up in the morning going to Stillwater OK for Friday. One of the biggest legal loads I have had (dimension wise, not weight wise). 510" x 75" x 30". Weighs a whopping 7550 lbs.

    After reviewing my load info again, I believe I could have stayed under my conestoga. The way it's worded, it initially seemed like I was picking 7 pieces. 1 - 510" x 75" x 30" and 6 - 170" x 75" x 15"... What I think I am only picking up is 6 - 170" x 75" x 15", double stacked (3 x 170 long is 510, 2 x 15 high is 30)...so I deadheaded from Strongsville to Toledo and back to Cleveland for nothing...at least it is a squarely dimensional load so it'll be easy to tarp.

Most likely the customer requested a flatbed, even though a step deck would have worked. We tend to only send what was requested, it seems like we often dont ask about alternatives. Especially with Boeing, multiple times I’ve picked up empty pallets/tooling on a flatbed and came back to the yard and transferred the load to a double drop stretch.
