FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

Haha well she sounds like a peach! Thanks for taking the time to write up what I’m in store for. It sounds like I’ll probably be getting her Monday.

 

Yessir that’s how it was Wednesday! I was one of about 6.

 

Well I’m sure glad I made it to KC. Fired the ole girl up this morning and with Shane on the phone helping me try different scenarios it took 33 minutes to get in gear and out from under my trailer. Once it did go into gear it made a grinding noise and he asked me “what was that?!”. That’s baby #### you should hear it when it downshifts to 6! From the drop yard 1/2 a mile to Freightliner it would shift from 2 to 4 to 3 to 7 back to 5 to 9 (you get the idea). Just all over the map. He thinks a sensor from the transmission to the clutch is failing. Freightliners got it and it’s their problem now and if it’s a quick software update I might have it back Monday, but Shane said not to hold my breath and probably plan on catching a ride up north for a loaner.

Nothing in my world is as exciting as yalls. No 700 mile days. No stolen valor truck. No broken truck (shouldn’t say that).

Get to Vandergrift this morning to unload. Had to be escorted in and out of the gated grounds.

Yesterday I did get parked early and asked for my preplan for today so I can get things together.

Today’s load was, pickup 6 steel coils from Monroe MI going to Valley NE. During my preplan phone call my dispatcher did say that I should be able to “set this load down somewhere and head out with something else”.

Let’s take a sip of the koolaid by loving and appreciating the way they utilize their local drivers when possible. (Watch me have to deliver this load)

 

I don’t think this counts as Creative Parking. Blocking trucks from getting through behind the parked trucks and lot is parked full at this point. Anyone pulling in will be backing up.

Stopped in Pauls Valley, OK for the night. When i drop my current load tomorrow morning, i will have run 6,265 paid miles in 11 days, including a reset. Not too shabby in my book. I’ve also gotten around a lot for the last several loads.

After i deliver my load of water in Topeka, i will grab an empty and head back to town until the middle of next week. Hoping to be home by noon

Well boys after much debate and after getting this weeks check I have made the call to Fremont and I am switching over to Midwest regional. I have spent a lot of time sitting on the SWR fleet and I don’t know if that’s due to freight, my dm, or an over abundance of drivers they need to cover loads for. I know they had made mention in the past the SWR is their biggest fleet, and with the freight market like it is that’s a lot of mouths to feed. Plus as an added bonus, no more Dallas traffic!!
