Ugh. Fell asleep so early and now not sleeping. Ugh.

grabbing load in the morning going to Joliet then run to STL for an AB load going to IA.

guess I have my plan for the weekend.

AB and the stupid bulkheads they build in the trailer so they don’t have to single any pallets. I haven’t been there in a couple years and it wouldn’t bother me to never go back.

Had a decent long weekend at the house, spent Saturday up in Seward at a little truck show, and I don’t have to leave super early in the morning. I consider all of that a win. Any guesses how far I’ll have to bounce out of Alliance after I get empty on Tuesday morning?

Last time I was in Alliance they sent me to BD in Broken Bow and I snagged a Carolina load and dropped it at Council Bluffs. Another FCC’er was with me in Alliance and he did the same, he said that’s usually the norm. If you haven’t been, that swap out at Becton Dickinson is about as easy as it gets. You don’t even see or talk to anyone.

AB was actually pretty smooth. Mostly automated process checking in and getting assigned a door, and didn’t talk to anyone except the yard dog and someone to seal trailer.

arrived 30 minutes early and was assigned a door right away. Bumped the dock and waited. They didn’t get to me right away but I was off the dock and scaled in less than 2 hours total from arrival. I waited around a few minutes to actually complete a 2/10 split to reclaim a bit of time at the end of the day.

their automation seems a bit off as it tells you like three times (via text message) “you are loaded. Proceed to the scales” but you still can’t move until the yard dog removes the lock from the air line. So why set there telling me three times to get off the dock when your boy is locked out.

    overall not a bad experience.

Rolling recaps are always the greatest when you don’t fully plan ahead. I’ve baby stepped my way to Primm for my delivery in Riverside tomorrow. I decided to call dispatch to let him know my plan for tomorrow. He appreciated the call and shortly thereafter he sent my preplan over, Costa Mesa CA to Deshler NE

What’s the parking situation at Pepsi? Info says limited parking. I don’t really want to park in the gravel at the truckstop.

So after I was under that load of beer, I’ve been joking with family members about Smokey and the Bandit.

Today I see this Post on X:

"Someone's kid reenacted Smokey & the Bandit on a CB at his summer job without realizing it broadcasted to the entire city, including the PD.

Fine, it was my husband's son.

    Ok, also mine."

Knucklehead, motocross25 and Modlite11 Thank this.
