And this inflation is why you absolutely can make more than you ever have and still be losing financial ground. I bought two pizzas and an order of cheese sticks from poppa John’s yesterday. 80 bucks!!! 4 hours of labor at 20 bucks an hour. Talk about wealth disparity. These economic policies are the cause of it. 80 bucks! That’s a whole day’s labor at 10 bucks per. to feed a family of 4 or 5.

The economy is askew since covid for sure.
Roughly 10% of folks are delinquent on mortgages, auto loans and credit cards.

CA will soon be offering home loan and down payment assistance to illegals and the federal government will soon announce a plan to construct 3 million homes for new arrivals to this country and the taxpayers will foot the bill.

In my state they let immigrants take the written CDL test in any language they request which seem ludicrous to me.

I've always made a decent living driving a truck, no matter the type of operation.
But that was because I wanted to drive professionally and strove to do it well while representing the industry.
I've trucked 50 yrs across the US and Canada and have NEVER seen the things I see today, on the road and at truck stops and shippers.

I'll retire next year while moving to a more tax friendly state and just hope I have enough saved to provide for my own family let alone housing for others or paying for someone's schooling.
Personally, I was better off financially 4 years ago.

delete - it would have probably been deleted by the mods as I could not make my point without getting political.

I hate to say it this way but why on Earth would you pay that much for a couple pizzas? The fact that you can afford that price pretty much puts you in the "haves" category. Everyone is complaining about rising prices yet they continue to pay said price. Can't be hurting that bad if you're still paying it ane have such disposable income.

Oxbow, Opus and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

You live in a country that proudly gives away its unskilled jobs to foreigners. It used to be one would get a formal education/college degree and not be affected but now many of those jobs are being filled with foreigners too. It seems no matter what an American does to put food on the table the government finds a way to take it back and give it to someone else.

I certainly am in the haves category. Never said I wasn’t, but I’m there because I have busted my ### for 30 years and have lived on beans and rice. Raised my kids on a single income and have sacrificed for years. Now if I want something I get it. That doesn’t mean the price isn’t inflated.

Ten4. It's a sign of what's coming and it's going to get much worse. Thanks for not taking offense to my comment as that wasn't my intention. It was just a great example of how the gap is widening along with an eraser of an entire economic class of people.

Siinman, Gatordude, Dennixx and 3 others Thank this.

    Indeed, I agree completely.
I quit McDonald's because I wasn't willing to pay their prices.
Used to buy popa John's until a large Supreme ran over $30 delivered without tip. Now I go and pick up Little Ceasars for about $9.
New pickup for $45k+....not at all in my future.
$15 for 3 chalupas at Taco Bell in Wildwood about a year or so ago? I walked away.

At some weird point in time retailers thought it would be a good idea to break it off in us.....and now people are starting to wise up.
We all got too fat and too lazy and the corporations got wize to it. Now folks are starting to pay attention and are no longer willing or able to shell out $8 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks, (as they recently announced).
$80 is dinner and drinks at Outback for my wife and I....not 2 pizzas and breadsticks, (and why in the world someone orders breadsticks with a main course being 85% bread will always confuse me).

The fact that instant wealth can be obtained in this day and age by a few mouse clicks posting a video must enter into the equation somewhere too.
