Still, look at who your co-workers are. I stand by my statement.
I think they want to get you some possible coverage because when they boot, you won't have a starve.
You really think he will listen?

Always take enough money with you to get a bus back home. What they tell you on the phone and in ads is not always what its like when you get there and start finding things out that they did not tell you before. Hopefully you already asked about detention pay, layover pay, unloading if any, pay hold-back, other deductions, fines for violations if any, pay for tarp if flatbed, forced dispatch if any, area of operations (NYC/east coast?), miles per week and so on. I went to an orientation for Butler Transport out of Newark, Ohio back in the day, only to have the recruiter tell us at the very end that we had to wash our trucks every Saturday when we got back to the yard-for no pay! Got up and said thank you but no thank you-drove home.

lol there’s no pay for anything except some of the miles you drive. No one on the company side is making very much money. I’m guessing the majority are taking home under 700 a week and very few over 1000. The only way to make money with this company is to be a trainer. Hell they even told us to not expect to get paid for tarping sometimes. What they do offer? A route to experience, and they didn’t make it a huge pain in my butt to get hired like these other guys. I’m expecting to make less than $5000 total for my first 2 months.

the final document I had to sign said basically, in English, they can steal from me for any reason they see fit, including but not limited to fines and damages. I’ll always keep enough money to get home

when you break it down hourly, I’m expecting to work around 320 hours a month and make about 2400 so I’ll be making around $7.50 an hour

    austinmike and 77fib77 Thank this.

If that turns out to be the case, save some pics of your settlement stubs and post redacted versions for all the others who are crazy enough to think about working for that company.

Let's cut the crap and be honest, you making $7.50/hour is REALLY equal to making $25 an hour because the company you work for provides you with a means to do the following.

You can see places that you would never see unless you were a truck driver.

For example, seeing and sleeping in a truck stop where the parking lots smell like piss so strong that you want to vomit when you open your window.

See how traffic backs up going up to the GWB on a Friday afternoon or Detroit where they shoot at you because you are from Chicago.

See the sunrise in unique places like Vince Lombardi rest area or Atlanta's best truck stop where they have pimps beating on their girls because they held back $2.

This company for that wage will give you first-hand experience where you will have to dodge human crap at the fuel aisle after waiting two hours for the truck in front of you finally moves. You may see someone pissing while fueling, it is a unique and hard-acquired skill so take notes.

The company is making sure you can learn useful and important skills like washing your truck with a windshield squeegee or how to dump your piss bottles where no one would know it was you and how to avoid any exercise by being able to dump your garbage on your neighbor truck's catwalk by pitching it through the passenger window blindly instead of walking 20 feet to the garbage cans.

OMG on top of all of that, you will get a home on wheels, where you will have a great bed where you can play with the additional employees that the company hires, those little bed bugs that they hire to watch you.

You will learn how to keep your home clean by using the right cleaners to clean up the piss on the sleeper floor where you forgot to take the top off the milk jug because you are so tired that you can't think straight.

You will learn a great skill of how to prepare those great health foods called roller dogs. You will learn how to so this all the time you are driving. You will learn how to steer with your knee while ripping into the mustard packets.

Remember they should rent that truck to you but it is a great benefit that moves your income up way past that $7.50/hour.

My god, why would anyone NOT want to do this, and do it for FREE?
