The Port Strike Could Destroy Trucking - 9/18/2024

I wonder if the other ports like in the West Coast are going to back them up, not that I care.

 

There is a reason strike activity has been up over the last 7 years. It's the same reason why corporations are lobbying both state/federal governments and weaponizing the courts to curtail the ability of workers to strike.

Strikes work.

 

Corporate profits at an all-time high. Sorry we don't have enough money to give you a raise.

I don’t think they will.

Takes couple weeks off, it’ll straight everything up, look what the covid shut down did.
I worked every friggen day.
I haven’t gotten a raise since 2014.

 

And unions are good for worthless lazy POS not pulling their weight and keeping their jobs also.

 

UAW paid members $500 week, all they had to do is picket 4 hours a week. This is another stong unionand is likely to be that good or better
