Why do you think inframe? If engine is not trashed, it's just gonna leak everywhere, but should be working just fine

Lots of farmers are cheap so I wouldn't trust it at face value. I'd do an oil sample on it and plug into the ECM and verify mileage too.

If you go into it with the mentality of possibly rebuilding the engine you're looking at about another 25k for the full in frame so definitely keep that in mind.

I recently gave away my 1994 W9 with an overhauled E model in it for 25k to give you an idea of what's out there.

Rear structure leaks on those can get pretty bad and very expensive to fix compared to an oil pan.

    Rideandrepair and DUNE-T Thank this.

you will already be half way there resealing everything, probably pitting in the liners at the water jacket from sitting too, might not need to be done right away but it should be in the cards

I might pull an oil sample when I change it but you always buy a old truck knowing it needs something

Add a rig dig report, and I’d pay for a dyno. And watch it while they run it for leaks.

Agreed, all rubber components, if not replaced already, will be ongoing issues.

    Definitely oil sample.

Have you seen this thing hands on and driven it yet? Crawled under it?

If it’s just for short hauls and not a critical $$ maker - probably be a good buy. I wouldn’t buy it sight unseen.

Don't be fooled by Armor All on the tires. Once that wears off you're back to an old truck.

I had an address for drivers with trucks like that as a place to register them legally in Nevada.
I've torn my desk apart looking for that information and can't find it. Maybe someone on here knows.
Anyway, can register your truck in Nevada in some small town in the middle of nowhere and it's legal.
The physical address of your company or truck is an office next door to a post office.
0/0's with their own authority and some small companies use that address to cut out all the red tape and California compliance rules.

NO……… doesn’t work. At least legally. When you drive in COMMIEFORNIA, it has to be a complaint truck.

Maybe he won't have to enter California since he's hauling horses out of Massachusetts.
