Jerry Seinfeld, I think, made a joke about that. He said, it simply amazes him that no matter how disgusting or dangerous a job is, SOMEONE is going to do it.:dontknow:

I ran skateboard 2 years long ago, and the thought of a roll of steel coming lose is scary. when i first started , just west of chicago, i think near Belmont and Kimball, not sure. I climb up on deck, pullin tarp, WHOOOOOA, wind catches it , I GO FLYING off the side, Freakin like a parachute. Never did that again. I was VERY young, this day and age, HOSPITAL, or Morgue .

Because i dont like working with other people and its the best paying job i could find where i work alone?

In all seriousness ive found that the type of person who becomes a driver falls into 4 broad types. Lazy people who enjoy just sitting all day doing as little as posible. People who for whatever reason just like being alone or having a lot more independance. Forigners who can make way more then us by abuseing or flat out breaking the laws and tax codes. People who have few/no other options. Afterall like @201 said, if there is a job SOMEONE will do it.

    Same.

Except for the wife, I hate people. Although I do love helping people (as a whole)….remotely….from far away….I hate dealing with them directly. Aka Id love to help you! But if you talk or stand close to me ill keel u

And since I believe everything in IT is now corrupt in silicon valley where I ised to work; that left me with trucking early 40s, just as wages started their all time record low. Fun times, thank god for savings and HYSA

P.s. Artics #3 kills me its so true. Honestly thinking of taking a step back for a bit, at 8 months in….the law breakers ruining everything is really killing this job.

Just giving cones and barrels just the slightest of nudges as I went by at 60 mph used to be one of my favorite 'sports' when I was an OTR driver (hey, it gets BORING out there..). Just enough to leave a rubber mark on the cone and leave it standing. Those orange plastic construction barrels (at least those which are ROUND..); if you just barely clip one with your trailer tire, done properly it will spin!!
