They better not depend on my Samsara for an accurate location...they'll wonder why I have been at the same location all night and all the next day (until I reboot...again)
it's on the company to provide the necessary electronic devices to stay compliant with the regs...if I were an O/O, I would provide my own, but as a company driver, that's their responsibility. They net millions of dollars, they can afford to replace these defective POS Samsara...we drivers didn't ask for these crap systems, they forced us to use them, so they can foot the bill to provide a workable replacement.

There are times when I yearn for the open road again, and there are times when I thank my lucky stars for being out of all this stuff, stuff that fills me with absolute horror. But then I was never in it. For many years I drove for companies that sorted everything out for themselves, all I did was go where I was told, load, drive and deliver.
But going back to the '70s, a time when I really loved the job, I was loaded from home from a regular customer and then when that was delivered I found my own load and went where I wanted after asking the price because 10% came to me. The worst part of it was standing in a freezing phone box in the middle of Glasgow with a bag full of pennies ringing clearing houses (brokers?) and on the alert to punch button A when the call was answered.
There were no computers, no tablets, no trackers, no smart phones, no even dumb ones either. Standing in that freezing payphone cabin I didn't always realise how lucky I was.
Not sure I want to go back quite that far, but I am sure that I wouldn't allow anyone to organise and interfere with my life such as I see on these pages, But if I was able to skim 50 years off my age but without going back to do so, I reckon I would consider @radioshark's point the best way to go, and shell out a few quid for a cheap one trick phone, and keep all my personal stuff off it. In the meantime I really do feel for @supersnackbar and others so tormented and wish you well in dealing with Big Brother.Dennixx, dwells40, Gearjammin' Penguin and 2 others Thank this. -

Gonna bet on the lottery. Found the last free spot in the Sturbridge Peelot. I am 3 miles short of running 2700 in 4 days. Will deliver 1st thing in the morning. I was told that there is nothing currently on me, but he(my travel agent) also said that she(the planner) is trying to get me to Toledo for some reason...

tomorrow is the first time across the Blue Water Bridge with a set of wings in about 5 months. The construction is still going on but somehow we sweet talked them into letting us cross. Possibly shutting the us bound bridge down so we can cross backwards? To be determined.hotrod1653, dwells40, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
