Call up TMC. They are strict, but mostly here good things about them. Do you have the GI bill?

The hospital bill, once you quit and have another job. Talk to a lawyer. You were nice and did it the right way. The hospital bill will/should get paid plus idk.

    TMC loves veterans.

I did check out McLanes website. When I search for jobs in Chicago they don’t have anything available.

my plan if I do the dollar general is to do for about 9 months, thru summer since I have a reefer. Then transfer over to a tanker division in Schneider. Get all my endorsements and do the tanker for a year or two.

when you say SNi, you mean Schneider?

TMC asked me for my previous 3 years of tax documents and I was not really happy about that. I don’t want to give that to them.

As far as getting a lawyer, I am no where near the statute of limitations, so if I need one I still can.

also there was no reason for me to try to get the guy fired. That’s ridiculous. Should he be a trainer, no. But that’s on the company. You should see some of these idiots they let be trainers.

I’m highly confident that the reason western express will go out of business is when they have a lawsuit resulting from an unqualified trainer. No doubt deaths will be the result of their wreckless practice they use to appease shareholders.

but is it up to me to attack one idiot who hurt me on accident? No that’s ludicrous and the thought you would even suggest it is asinine.

had I been more seriously hurt or were it done intentionally maybe. But the guy is just bad at his job, and not qualified for his position. That’s on the company.

One day they will pay dearly, in a court room.
    I won’t be there.

just because you give advice, doesn’t make it good advice

I would call them, it wouldn't hurt. I think food service is high turnover. If your willing to work that's probably a good spot It pays well. SNI, is Schneider national or Schneider.

DG I wouldnt want to do that, too much backing in postage stamp sized lots. Jb Hunt I'm guessing is containers around chicagoland. Drop and hook back and forth to railyards. City driving would be the worst part. It wouldn't be the worst way to get seat time. All of it is where trucks are designed to go.

    To bad about TMC.

Why not tankers now? Gemini (loves truck stop) pays 30 to 33 an hour plus ot after 40. You need 6 months experience. If you had tanker experience it would be a better fit.

I did otr dry box for 9 months. Then went to oil field in Texas and did hazmat tankers. Mostly just waste water from wells. One every two weeks acid for a kill truck.

Focusing on driving for 6 months isn't a bad idea.

Going to Philly sucks, imo. Pittsburgh too.

    Anyway good luck.

Gemini sounds sweet. I’d do that.

I’ll give Mclane a call and see what they say.

yeah I was bummed about TMC but oh well

the reason why not tankers now is money. The only way I can find to make above minimum wage is to do the DG account. I’m sure there other options but the actual value per hour on the DG account is 22-25 which is a few dollars per hour better than anything I can find. Of course that’s based on their numbers and it’s still mileage pay and then unloading and empty trailer bonus and all the rest of it.

I look at the Schneider jobs everyday. And not just in Chicago, the whole country. I never see the DG reefer jobs available. The DG dry all day any city. But the reefer are rare. I’m expecting it to be just slightly easier than the DG dry, but in the summer I’ll appreciate that cold trailer.

after next summer is over I’ll go tanker if all is well. Then after a year there I’ll have flatbed, reefer, and tanker exp. With 2 years clean. Plus alol the endorsements.

And the economy should just about be booming at that point.

I would of course keep looking in the meantime.

I always knew when I started at western I’d be leaving. I didn’t think it would be this soon. Potentially I could be at Schneider for years. And I’m glad I did a different company first, to at least see what it was like.

    Good! Glad to hear that,
The sad truth about it is they won't.

You have to see what crap is done to drivers and how bad it gets with some of these companies, one reason why I fight them and believe me I am not the only one on my side of the desk that does.

NOTICE: Most job ads that I see for flatbed duty (that aren't for rookies) want AT LEAST 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE.

Thus: if you want decent credit for any flatbed duty -- you'd need to stay at WE longer -- or go with another starter flatbed fleet.

TMC (& other carriers) ask for earlier W-2 forms as verification of previous employment -- NOT because they're nosy. Heck -- you could just white out the dollar figures on the copies you send out to them. The rest of the W-2 form is stuff they would want to know, anyway.

In your previous posts -- you never said anything about checking out/applying with Maverick Transportation.

You are very likely within their hiring area.

Are you afraid they might actually hire you? Or have you just had your fill of flatbed already?

    Or BOTH? :p
