Too many in the shop for the same BS repairs.broke down plumber and 86scotty Thank this. -
I have been a single owner operator from past 11 years. Clean record. Recently I was forced to setup eld even though my truck is eld exempt. I drive 2019 Freightliner with 1998 engine.
So I decided to get motive eld. Even after connecting eld and everything working on my end and motive eld side. But Highway still shows me has disable on all the brokers.
Now they are saying my truck is been sitting at one spot for too long that's why eld highway system is not detecting it.
Can anyone help if they have some info on this. -
Curious...Why were you forced to get an ELD? Because of Highway?

More companies joining highway, even in bulk world for hoppers.

My ELD is free. I paid for the device 6 or more years ago and haven't paid them a dime since. But now they want you to pay the piper by charging for 'live tracking' and it's about $250/yr. And you can't pay monthly. Annual charge up front only.
Can't help you with an older truck. Read DUNE-T's post above.broke down plumber Thanks this. -
If yes, they could not track you, could they?broke down plumber Thanks this. -
Again, how does anyone know if the tracking really stops at the end of the load.
I'd hate to lose a direct customer because such and such brokerage kept seeing me going to the same location over and over, while I was doing my own stuff. This is going to be a huge win for the brokers if drivers allow it. There's just as much fraud on their side of the table as ours, and what do o/ops have to combat that with? A hunch? That everything is going to be OK?broke down plumber and DUNE-T Thank this. -
This is what they replied to me when asking me to sign up with them. I read some of the terms and said it tracks unto 7 days. Told them that this seems to be a little much and was not interested at this time. I do not trust this statement. But you know they are taking on a lot of brokers. Gonna guess will have to deal with it sooner than later with them if I want to play in the broker field.
Hi there,
We apologize for any inconvenience as Highway’s priority is to ensure a safe and secure connection between brokers and carriers. Highway utilizes your ELD connection to establish your credibility by verifying your active VINs and recent vehicle movement.
We will only track your location while you are on a contracted load for one of our customers. Please note that our system does not have access to personal driver or billing/payment information and we do not share your ELD access with brokers or any other third-party.
Please let us know if you would like further assistance in connecting your ELD and we’re here to help!
Best,
Theresa
