different strokes for different folks. I’ve been maxing out my 401k since before I bought the house. The only other way for me to invest the money would be a brokerage account or something like that. Not really interested. The rest of my money is in a high interest savings account earning 5%, which after taxes and inflation, is probably breaking even.

Once the house is paid off, I’ll start refreshing the appliances, ect. In a year I’ll be debt free and have very little expenses. With what I do I could work 2 months and live on that for the rest of the year.

I plan to keep working but at a slightly reduced rate over the next 10 years. By then who knows what the job market will be like, doesn’t matter much when you don’t need to make that much money. Sounds a lot better to me then a 1700 a month house payment for 15 years.

We have a local bar/grill called Nowhere. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. If I want to go out, and she ask's where, I say Nowhere. Then she says "I thought you wanted to go out"....

I listen to Ramsey daily and I don’t think he gloats in his wealth much, if anything he mentions his earlier failures. Congrats on the financial success @kylefitzy especially under the age of 35, you and your wife are officially “weird people” :)

My wife does the same. It’s just a ploy to make you think you chose the restaurant. She knows where she wants to eat makes it look like I picked it
