I would think so. Optimized idle starts the truck automatically. I would think that it wouldn't work if the key wasn't on.
Get used to the alarm that goes off every time it cranks.

:D I really sleep deep. I’ve slept through 3 tornadoes in my life. All of those were within 1/4 mile of me

    Key on, engine running

By the cruise control, bottom right of the steering wheel is a button with what looks like computer windows. That's a shortcut to opti idle. Or just scroll the menu.

Engage opti idle, let the truck snub out

In the bunk on the driver's side is the bunk heat/ac. Hit the blue button and set the desired temp.

Battery ac will run until it needs to kick on the main engine.

That opti idle would have been a deal breaker for me

I don’t like it one bit, but certain people ruin everything. They have to make everything a pain in the keister. When I start an engine and the computer stops it….. and it keeps doing it, I get a little bit red in the face.

    austinmike and Chinatown Thank this.

You really won't need apti idle all that much, the bunk ac dies a decent job without it.
