[QUOTE="outkast, post: 13135674, member: 11392"If you are contributing, this basically means you just took a pay cut.[/QUOTE]

Technically it’s not wages so any increase or decrease doesn’t impact wages so it’s not a pay cut. it’s an incentive to invest in ones retirement. These “matching funds” are not even the employee until they are “fully vested” which can take like 5 years to become 100% vested.

These are voluntary contributions and can be changed as mentioned “with notice” of the change. Doesn’t impact back contributions or matches but future.

I’m not surprised this option wouldn’t be on the table and a bit shocked it would not have been implemented before now.

I’d say it more resembles a “profit sharing plan” than “wages”… it’s there to encourage contributions to your retirement in the good years but certainly not guaranteed in the lean years.

Big picture, our wheels are still turning and that’s what makes us our money to contribute to a retirement account… match or no match.

I remember when I first started working for fcc in March 2017 within 18 months we got 9 cents per mile raise, freight was paying good fcc passed it around to the driver's. I would bet when it gets better they'll do the same thing....and take care of the driver's......worst case scenario if see a Crete truck pulling a fcc trailer well......

Regardless of how you look at it, its subjective. The main point of my post was to inform everyone so they can review their investment strategies and make any necessary changes. I believe there really should have been an announcement

Lmao holy ####, you can't make this #### up. Wow lol.

Your company just cut off your 401k match without giving notice to the drivers, and your first response is to defend the company saying that your 401k matches aren't "wages", that the company has the right to change your 401k match at anytime and that you're surprised that they didn't take away your money sooner than they did?

    Jesus dude.

Some of you guys make this place seem like a cult. Unbelievable.

It does seem like there have been a lot of changes that were only communicated after the fact lately.

Shipper could’ve been worse. Spent a little over 4 hours on the premises. 2.5 hours waiting for a door, and 30 minutes actually in the door. Rest of the time was spent checking in/out and me seeing if i could actually go the way i wanted to back to the Turnpike without major issues. Lot is a zoo though. Queuing trucks parked all over the place and going every which way.

Made it to the first Ohio service plaza last night and hoping to make it a decent bit into Iowa today, then deliver my paper rolls in Omaha tomorrow morning.

Sometimes I wish we had the option to get paid every two weeks instead of every week. This paycheck will only have 1,252 miles on it. Oh well, at least i’m carrying a long load into next period, so it’ll average out to be the same pay

    Strange, now this post has a totally different vibe compared to the original post… {shrug}

As mentioned above, an announcement is required and the annual match doesn’t hit until the coming weeks. I would assume both will occur at about the same time. That match will be given for last year and they will announce any future changes to that program at that time.

Please don’t create a bigger issue because something leaked before it may or may not be official.

It’s a timing issue nothing else.

I’m not going to accuse the company of being secretive or hiding an issue just because someone told someone something that wasn’t officially announced yet and to what degree.

i guess i’m saving the company money by slowing down. But that’s for the sake of my own sanity, not the company’s bottom line
