I had an epiphany about backing up a tractor-trailer on a city street

I noticed right away when I first started driving a truck that I couldn’t see cars driving relatively close behind me. Not just the tailgaters, either, but back as far as a truck length or more. I look for their shadows, but that only works when the sun is off to the side enough to cast a shadow over to one side or the other.

This is definitely the individual that post brain dead questions, and then proceeds to argue with everyone’s answers. I know at least half of us on here are on ignore for him, and I was legitimately trying to help when he placed me so. My idiot filter plugged up, and I told him my opinion, which was as well received as most answers on here. Pretty much all his threads get locked for some reason, but I give him 5 stars for tenacity at starting new ones! Most professional troll I’ve seen lol

Sure, the fact that youve had a cdl this long and not noticed it or the 90 million warnings your trainers told you about this pretty much means you really arent qualified for the cdl you hold

Yrs - you are correct. Try it sometime. When you’re home, park your vehicle 2 feet behind your rig, get back in the truck and look in the mirrors.

Never back up in traffic without a reliable spotter or escort vehicle. Use your CB radio for help in a pinch.

    What does Yrs mean?

I cannot bring a tractor-trailer to my house. The roads are too narrow.

My trainer never told me about this.

I have driven well over a million miles without a preventable accident. I probably have a better safety record than you do.

I'm not a troll. This issue just never occurred to me before today.

I didn't find out about how sliding the tandems forward reduces off-tracking to make it so that I can more easily get around obstacles until after I had been driving a semi-truck for seven years. What do you think about that?

I would say you should use your head for more than a hat rack
