it doesn't use a driver facing Camara.
Per the knight/swift company Facebook post. The inside Camara will be disabled and covered

That is good news, if the inside camera is actually covered. How about the audio that comes with the camera?

So they are going with the top of the line model just to get the side facing camera's? That is some huge money going out.

But I guess it would have shown that truck coming up fast on my right side on the shoulder, in a construction zone and as the barrier was closing the gap, a few seconds earlier than just the forward facing camera showed --- yes, that would have made a difference in the outcome of that crash.

The side facing cameras will definitely show the driver because it's going to be able to see your reflection on both of the windows

If you watch that YouTube video of the deposition of the driver who pitted a car and spun it out, you will change your mind on Driver Facing cameras, and if you're in an At Fault crash, maybe Dashcams period. They will analyze your eye movements every second and use it against you. If you have your radio up to loud, they will use it against you. One hand or just a couple fingers on the steering wheel? They will use it against you.

I overheard some chatter during my last training and they can most definitely see the reflection in the windshield.

A complete waste of time and funds. Safety training on a quarterly basis and an annual Smith System Defensive Driving course would yield much better safety results than stressing out drivers with cameras and A.I. inside the truck cabs. Stress levels go up and the accident rates are still on the increase too - this technology does not prevent accidents as neither did the Electronic Logging Devices.

The day it becomes mandatory to put cameras inside my, own, truck, is the day that I sell it and all the equipment and start selling camera hacking devices to the losers who are still holding steering wheels for these pencil pushers that cannot drive a four wheel down the road without a dozen cameras. Truckers need to grow some balls and stop believing that the only way to defend ourselves in an accident is via cameras! Soft spines and soy boys that promote such nonsense fail to remember that every other car and intersection and lamp post already has a camera on it watching the entire grid. Plus let common sense prevail like it did for the past one hundred years whenever an accident took place. Physics, inertia, scratch marks and debris usually leave all the evidence and then there are usually at least two witnesses if no one has died. Geez people : common sense has truly gone out the door and soon A.I. Cameras will be in our bedrooms and bathrooms and kitchens being controlled by foreigners who have access to the database and footage. This sick pandemic of driver facing cameras and side facing cameras and dash cameras in trucking must not become the norm, or else we will all lose personal privacy to even take a leak like a dog does, on the outside in the grass without A.I. sending us a ticket for being a public nuisance. Yes Sir.

Stand for something or lose it all ye Truckers with balls and spines of steel. :blackknight:

I don’t say anything to that guy, I stay far away. He’s a danger to himself and others. That’s the one you need to watch out for. Definitely got picked on in school, and still mad about it.
