Vietnamese man among 4 to be sentenced for smuggling thousands of ants from Africa

Black market ants. Is that Smuggaling or Insect Trafficing ?

 

The problem is that with ants(and potentially other insects or species) is that in different areas they may not have any predators or boundaries to keep their numbers in check. They can potentially become destructive pests. In the northeast (Pennsylvania in particular) we’re dealing with spotted lantern flies,while they look pretty,they’re destructive to crops (especially grapes and vineyards).
Look at the python issues in Florida-enough said!!

There are some things that need to be left well enough alone!

 

I have a hard time thinking why people have reptiles as pets. Having bugs as pets is even crazier.
