Deland said that it was a GPS issue...but I wasn't using the tablet, I was using the Love's app, and the tablet's ELD location said I was at the city I was trying to fuel...don't know what the issue is.

Now my shipper loaded me, and are now unloading me, so I don't know how much extra time I am gonna have to putz around fueling twice...I may just bypass the terminal fuel location and request a new one down the road.

Between the nanny systems, the retarded auto transmission programming, the assigned fuel locations, and no APU, I am starting to miss the freedom of a WTF-I company. I did see an advertisement from Lonestar in my area making significantly more than what SPD was paying...if I didn't need the insurance asap, I might go back to open deck...with the crap ride of these Junkliners, my back is bugging me almost as much as when I had to tarp.

Load got a little wonky. They had me loaded fairly quickly, however they had to unload me. Turns out the product they put on first, was on hold from their Quality Control department...but it wasn't marked or labeled as on hold. The loader only found out it was on hold when he went to print out the b/l. So he had to unload it, then stage some of the identical product that wasn't on hold. So, it took about an extra hour and a half. I managed to make it to the Carlisle Love's and put 18.2 gal of DEF in, but I skipped the terminal fuel stop because the delay getting dispatched on the load, then the delay getting loaded (and the nightmare of the Carlisle Love's) put me tight on my delivery appointment. I pulled in and checked in exactly at my appointment. And I am being unloaded now. Funny thing is, I pick up here tomorrow, so I may be loading some of the same product back on my trailer going to IL.

Had some excitement while I was at the shipper. The guy next to me was being loaded while I was checking in. I was back out in my truck waiting my turn. And I could still hear them hitting the dock plate on his truck. Then I saw him walk out with his B/L, get in his truck and pull out of the dock to seal his trailer...about 2 feet from the dock you hear yelling and the slide in metal dock plate hit the ground. I realized, they weren't done loading him and he just drove off...with the forklift and loader still in the trailer. I honked my horn to get his attention. He proceeded to back up to the dock again. Turns out, they gave him his bills, but told him they had a couple more pallets to put in before he could leave...I guess he forgot. And this wasn't a newbie Swift or CRE driver, this guy was my age (he said in his 28 years out here, that's the first time he had that happen).... thankfully the forklift wasn't 1/2 way in the trailer when he did that...

How many of those were ID placards?

With that many you could have problems with the segregation chart.

Definitely looks to me like a drop from a high hook.

Hopefully some moron now learned to crawl under there and check it.

Which is a good reason to ALWAYS check the dock plate placement when you sign for your load. Never get complacent when doing this job, that’s when it’ll come back and bite you in the rear.

SSB, I don't understand why you feel this way? HazMat is usually where the money is. At least it was for me. Granted that I worked for a company that had Teamster union representation but I was able to retire last year at 60. Hauling HazMat is no big deal. I pulled vans that had a lot of placards on them. It's really quite easy to figure it out. My last 17 years was pulling a HazMat tanker and that was even easier.

It seems like I remember if I had a bunch of hazmat I could just slap “Dangerous” on the 4 sides of the trailer and call it good. Maybe I’m misremembering… or maybe I just flat out did it wrong. I know Inhalation Hazard or Poison in any amount have to be placarded.. and anything with a UN#. I forget how that all is. And admittedly I never did it enough to be as well versed in it. Everytime I had HazMat I had to get the book out to see what I needed. And we had the sticky placards because a lot of our trailers didn’t have flips. And I do remember showing up to the customer a lot of time and half of em were gone and blown off.
