How many days is acceptable to go without a shower?

If you are looking for something better, you are in a good location for one of my favorite former employers, Cox Transfer out of Eureka Illinois. They run pretty heavy in your area. I actually was a local driver for them out of southern Wisconsin, but had to resign when I moved out of their operating area.

I really enjoyed working for them, probably would have retired from there if I hadn't moved to stupid Iowa. Check them out.

Other than that, best advice I can give is start taking sponge baths in the middle of the home depot parking lot, and that should at the very least get you off that account!

 

Look at IMT transport out of Iowa.

 

Hotel receipts aren’t required to log off duty. You can run all over the country in a day cab and log your 10 hour breaks as off duty and be completely legal.

 

tell that to the Manchester TN scale master, I had to log off duty in Manchester TN once due to crash on monteagle in fog. Gotta motel room. Next day dropped Chattanooga, picked up another tank at tank wash, got stopped at Manchester scales on way back across and dot inspected, he asked where I showed off duty for 16 hours. said I needed a receipt, can’t be credited for 10 hour break sleeping across the seats. I showed him motel receipt, then he said “I can call and check!” I told him go ahead and told him the room number I had.

Tell them your BO is Toxic. Threaten to plant yourself in their office for a couple hours.

 

Since when is it legal or acceptable to live in a day cab?

 

I’m out from Sunday afternoon/evening to Friday afternoon most weeks. I shower when I get home on Friday, and again on Sunday morning. On the road I generally take a shower on Wednesday.

I treat the smelly bits with Gold Bond powder in between (I hate more chemical antiperspirant/deodorants). A trick I discovered during the COVID fun when I was trying to avoid human contact: alcohol based sanitizer does an amazing job on armpits, which makes sense since it’s bacteria that produces body odor.

 

Wear an adult diaper on the outside of your work pants.

 

Just remember this rule of thumb. By the time you start smelling yourself? Everyone else has been smelling you for three days.

 

All time record without anything to clean with was 9 days while on FEX up at Ft Hunter-Liggett.

Went 73 days with only cold water showers in winter time during IFOR.

OTR Trucking... every other day but have stretched to 3 with wet wipes and/or perineal cleanser.
