Doesn't really clarify the "what's it" mystery though.

 

When you go by now it looks like the big circle you can see from above is netting or something. I wonder if someone rigged up a salvaged tower to use to raise birds or something like that. I don’t know. It’s odd looking though.

 

Is that hinged at the right so it could be stood up by a helicopter, then blade unit attached for a windmill?

 

At first I thought it was one of those ground grain storage piles that they put plastic over, like you see instead of silos, but after looking at the side view, not sure that would be accurate.

 

Maybe, except it has been there, pretty much as is for about 5 years now. Every now and then, something gets added to it, but the first time I saw it, I was headed to Dallas for FCC in 2020. It looked about like that side view then. That looks like a google maps streetview.

It apparently is lowered for repairs

 

I’ve never seen it standing up ever.

 

It's still not completed. Never been raised all the way like zodiacflyer said been there at least five years sometimes I saw university bus parked out there can remember the schools name.
