Not a bad idea my experience with terminal managers at big green was the same. Get on the ####list for some faux pas or rub them the wrong way for something and it's down hill.

That's the big trade off with LTL. Everyone wants in so they can replace you if they want pretty easily. Throw in the big corporate vibe and I'll never work for another LTL unless it's linehaul. Sticking around the office like dock work or P&D is a recipe for failure.

I just heard our Harrisburg terminal is laying off 40 people across every department. Dominoes are starting to fall.

It's amazing how the rumor mill can churn out so many different numbers. Dispatch told us it was 10 drivers.

I'd trust dispatch over the word of drivers. Rumors spread like wildfire. Feels like I'm back in high school again

Oh yeah? Well I heard every LTL company is going out of business tomorrow. 9am sharp. 1,000,000 drivers out of work. And management is going to report it all on DAC as a rollover AND truck abandonment. RIP in peice guys, it was nice knowing y'all. Not really, most of you driver types are borderline feral humans but I'll be polite.

Next week the sky falls. Stay tuned

Got back early yesterday afternoon, and hooked up to a twin set of 48’s. Boss had me take them around the block, it wasn’t bad at all tbh.

I think I’ll be ok doing this. I start doing it full time Wednesday most likely. Dr appointment Monday and jury duty Tuesday. Lol

When I started at MME it was a long box operation with every trailer inspected annually plus 3 minor inspections (one inspection per quarter, from a mechanic). Since 2022 we have added AAA Cooper pups into the mix, tripled our linehaul driver count, and guess how many mechanics we've added? None!

I kept track of write ups for s's and g's this week.

    21 trailers and dollies
    9 had problems
    3 had two problems
    1 had three
Had to stop at the shop for two of em before leaving, one for a flat, one for a light.

AAA cooper don’t hire mechanics. They don’t fix crap until it gets out out of service, or a large account complains.

Averitt is the same way oh, god I sound like those boomer truck drivers that look like they’re 70, and get no sun but are really 40years old.
