I made over 90k on my last year at Cardinal Logistics on a Regional Run they have in Louisville Kentucky. I retired in 2023.

I'm waiting on a call from S&S. They seem to have a great atmosphere and happy drivers.

Any current Holland employees feel free to message me. I’m applying soon and can put you down as a referral.

I read through this entire thread. It's interesting that so many drivers working for Holland have chimed in on this thread but all of them have either quit or just went completely silent. I'm not saying there's not some truth to the posts. Clearly they do lots of long hauls pretty consistently and seem to have good equipment. I'm just wondering, why isn't this thread like the other threads - Indian River, FCC, Shaffer etc. where people working there long term still continue to post regularly?

I'de imagine the whole 1 day off for every 7 days out thing is probably why most of the drivers in this thread eventually left, or at least one of the big reasons. That's really hard to maintain over the long term.

My other concerns that I've seen personally are no APU's (so an opti-idle equivalent instead) and no continuous idling if you need it when things go wrong or break down in very cold and very hot temperatures, such as below 35 and above 85 or something reasonable like that. These probably weren't big concerns to others compared to the hometime policy, but they are still big concerns to me, with the hometime policy being mine (and probably others) biggest concern.

If you look at the Shaffer thread you'll notice that once a certain member changed companies, it became very quiet, even with most of the same members being active on TTR. Same thing happened to the spd focused thread.

If a couple of frequent posters leave, threads often die out. Guys leave ttr for a variety of reasons, so a thread going quiet isn't an indication of how good a company is or isnt.

I'm not so sure. A lot of companies aren't very strict about their "1 day for every week out" policy and I remember one of the posts said they would get home early and were not forced to leave early.

As far as the APU goes, I think that's a misunderstanding or miscommunication by the person who typed up the website. Many drivers on here have mentioned that Holland has APUs and one driver on here said their trucks have Park Smart which is Freightliner's battery powered APU. Their website even shows a truck for sale that has Park Smart. And what do you know, I just happened to see a Holland truck parked at the truck stop I slept at last night. Sure enough, it has a battery APU as well. I think the miscommunication comes from the fact that their battery APU is used in conjunction with optimized idle to automatically start the truck when the APU batteries get low.

I've never used a battery APU, but I've heard a lot of bad things about them over the years. However, Freightliner seems to have the best one since it's a factory option and uses the truck's factory bunk AC connected to an electric compressor instead of a separate HVAC system under the bunk that not only takes up storage space but requires additional ducts that are hard to route in an efficient way for cooling the sleeper.

If I had to guess, drivers at Holland get burnt out easily because the CPM is below average and bonus system is set up incentivize drivers to run really hard non stop and not take much home time in order to make the good money. That's my only concern if I were to consider working for this company (I'm not saying I am and I'm not saying I'm not, but it's in the back of my mind). I've experienced burnout at companies that don't even run me that hard at all, and I'm still making pretty decent money. I feel like you could "fly too close to the sun" so to speak, at this company, but who knows.
