That didn't happen to me even one time while pulling reefers for 18 years. I'm meaning, giving my load to a team. I've heard that happens, but didn't experience it myself.

    Counterpoint....

If dry van is such a 'lousy' gig -- I'd be curious to learn (as would others, too...I'm reasonably sure) why "Fremont Contract Carriers"....(a mostly dry van fleet...with some flatbed) is clearly one of the best & most active threads here on the Forum -- & also seems to have (overall) continuously high driver morale, & camaraderie...as well???

    FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

Well it did actually happen to me several times puliing IWX refers, anytime I would want to run legal they would pull the load, or Steve Coulter the owner would call and make it worth your while to run it to a team at least. Nothing will agravate me more than spending 2 days between LA Produce and Salinas get it loaded to loose it to a team, I understand, but did care for it. Best thing I ever did was leave square trailers and go to tankers, Hauling refrigerated Gas is probably the best paying loads out here, I used to pull a lot of heavy water off Mountain Pass, just south of Nipton Road, those loads paid very well only went to Santa Paula Water Treatment, If we would have had liquid trailers instead of powder trains it would have been a more comfortible ride, Front to Rear slosh in a powder train with heavy water was not a good thing, but it paid well.

I pulled hazmat tankers for 5 years and hauled a few loads to water treatment plants, usually in Atlanta, GA.

Well speak for yourself, it certainly matters to me to the tune of $500 to $1000 a month or better. That's the spread between short vs practical depending on your monthly miles. I ran reefer for two years and never had the issues your referencing although I did have to flip my schedule. Maybe you could let everybody know what reefer outfit your worked for. Okie dokie
