I have had nationwide for the last several years for my couple trucks running mostly local and some regional loads. We mostly haul dump trailer/tandem dump truck stuff and heavy equipment. Since my insurance will be up for renewal soon I decided to get a couple quotes. I got one back from an agent that I use for other business related insurance that was about 25 percent cheaper for the same coverage as I currently have…. But it was progressive which I have no personal issues with but I have heard second hand stuff about them which has been mostly bad. I also know someone who just tipped over a truck and was on progressive and had a check within about a week and from everything I know about the situation they could have found so many ways out of paying it’s not even funny.
Tell me why I shouldn’t switch to progressive

"Flo" is HUGE, and I have Progressive for my 4 wheeler, only because it was the apt. managers daughter, but quite honestly, I don't think any one is better than any other, they're all crooks. I've heard good and bad about ALL insurance companies, some say you CAN'T cancel a Progressive policy, under some contractual agreement, you actually going to read all that crap? Kind of funny, I typed in best and worst insurance companies, and it comes up inconclusive, meaning, they all stink. Problem is you never know until you need them. Seems Progressive is about in the middle for complaints, Allstate the worst and State Farm the best. Good luck.

Some brokers won't work with you if you have Progressive. I don't really know the reason.

I had them for the first three years. My experience is with a dry van truck and trailer as a O/O. Had an issue with a Towing company that ripped my transmission to pieces. Had to sue that company with a different attorney. Ended up paying my deduction on my insurance claim. Progressive had some problems on this for me.
1st Had to wait for about a week to get the guy out to look at truck in shop.
2nd They wanted to add all old stuff from junk yard for replacement because of some BS in the policy.
3rd After installing the used transmission it failed within 5K miles.
4th They finally agreed to pay for a reman transmission. This was done right finally and they paid way more on the truck this way. If had went the reman way first it would had saved them and me a lot of money and hassle.
5th This was around 3-4 years ago and I still have not got my money back as they are trying to sue the company insurance still to get it back. I have since settled with the company from my lawyer. Not ideal to use there lawyers in something like this.
6. Overall experience was not bad for the term that I had them in 3 years. Only one issue but it was a major issue and made me change insurance providers because of it. Would not go back to them for the fact they will not fight hard enough against someone at fault.W923, gentleroger and Concorde Thank this. -
I use great west..
No problems and can actually get a hold of someone with out pressing 1 for English after listening to all the computer languages. Then listening to options that recently changed.
Then oops you hit the wrong button hang up and try again.
