Over the years I have discovered on two occasions, two bats had hit my windshield and had expired up under the wipers.

This brings me to the sad inventory of animals I have hit over my driving career.
    • one dog
    • one frog
    • countless field mice
    • one opossum
    • several cats
    • one peacock
    • two turkeys
    • one owl
    • several small birds
    • two bats
    • three deer
    • one squirrel
    • a family of raccoons
    • several rabbits
    • one woman

Good lord! I am sorry to hear that happened to you. One of my instructors at my cdl school claimed to have 2 near misses from people looking to end things, I thought he was blowing smoke up my ###. I did a little digging and was shocked at how often it seems to happen. So selfish, they’re gone, but you gotta live with it

    Trucker61016 and scottied67 Thank this.

Due to the hill country ecosystem and the the natural bridge caverns location every night the Mexican free-tailed bats are out for feeding. Best little misquito killers around here. They are pretty stealthy but You can hear them chirping when they fly around. In our life time We have had them fly in our garage, house, and shoo many many times. You will sometimes find one sleeping the day somewhere if they were out too late and didn't make it back home. The dogs have managed to catch a few from time to time. Guess they taste like chicken, but they have never told us. Lol. Never have had problems with them. They are ugly but not pests around here.
