I think this is the only picture I have of the old girl. The Pete on the right is the truck that I learned to drive on. 70 Pete as I recall, 318, 5 x 4, Luberfiner on the left, square air filter on the right. Flat metal dash, metal side to side park brake switch.

Brings back memories. I think the photo was from 81 or 82. The red dump truck had a 3208 in it with a 4 x 3 as I recall. My old 78 GMC you can barely see back behind that 74 Ford.

 

Couple of my younger siblings. Brother is eat up with Parkinson’s, here I am 60 today and still thankfully have no medical issues and take no pills. Just wish I could fix him….

 

Well, after barely finishing hauling the remaining concrete in 3 trips just before it started to rain, I rechecked and I should tear out another 5 feet, and feeling the wind and rain that came in yesterday and today, (and as I'm a Fall Born Baby), I have a feeling my good weather days are numbered for this year, so....will have to spend the next week, cleaning up the hole edges, paper, form, level and see about pouring. Have 2 doctor appts in there so probably pour after those are out of the way. Try to get everything buttoned up, curing and removed within the next 1-1/2 weeks. Try to beat Halloween.....again.
Relaxing today....I think I pulled something trying to get done before the rain made the dump yard muddy, so may have been throwing around heavy concrete haphazardly.

 

I put a big power radio in the T800. Pretty satisfied so far, clear and clean up here in the hills.
Anyway, one way haul road I'm calling out "truck and trailer leaving the pit" on 7. After couple of rounds a woman comes back---"who is that calling out truck and trailer leaving the pit? We got a truck and trailer hauling?" couple guys answer "I don't know who it is". I must be getting out when I'm up on top of the mountain, maybe to an outfit in Montana or Utah or Georgia hahaha! I tried hollering back but she didn't answer.

Well I did something I said I would never do, showed my truck in a youtube video, but there was circumstances I never run into going on, my cousin passed away a day before I left out knowing I was gonna bobtail to Montana, second was I actually got to do something I enjoy while using the truck so I broke my own rule and shot video doing it. this got throttled immediately by the powers that be at youtube because I used a song by Stained for a tribute to my cousin since this was the song they played at his funeral, did not think it was gonna be a problem since my channel is not monetized so here is the original video before I have to change the song
