Well congratulations Buddy!!!!! Take your time when you are taking the test. If you need a good refresher before you go, go to Crist's CDL Test website and practice.

When I went to take the test, they already had my fingerprints and it was a surprise that I was able to take the HM test. Prior to getting there, I had not received notification that I was good to go.

Hats off to ya, Barry! Let me know how it all goes. If you still have my # and want to call, I should be around all day.

I passed my HazMat and Tankers tests w/o any difficulty. I got my endorsements and what a great feeling to have that burden off my shoulders. I'm going to be calling Dale at LC today to give him an update and try to schedule a time to meet with him at the terminal. One of my fellow classmates has already gone through orientation and starts on Monday, June 21st.

It was a good time. A little pricey but where else can you sample ribs from 10-12 different award winning cookers. Wound up costing about as much as going out to a good steak house.

    Mr. Mark,

I've gone back and forth on where to start. Always wanted to go with Magnum, just not sure if I can make it work from a pay stand point. I went back to the start of your old magnum thread to try and run the miles and get a ballpark idea of what it'd look like.

Nevertheless, I read something that made my hair stand straight up! Lol. You briefly mentioned coming over a hill and finding a low clearance sign for a fast approaching underpass. That's one of my biggest fears!

I was wondering, could you elaborate on that story a bit and tell us how you and Duke handled that situation?

Hehehehehe Yeah, that was a true "Attention Getter". And I hit the brakes, cames to a stop on the side of the road about 80' from the underpass.

Honestly, there is not a lot to elaborate on. It was a tight two lane road. We sat there for a few minutes and a couple of trucks (delivery) did come under the bridge, but neither Duke or I felt comfortable assuming those trucks were 13'6". Being as I was new and there was not a lot of room for error, Duke jumped in the driver's seat, backed up about 200' until we were parallel with a city maintenance yard, he wheeled in there, and we were gone.

But we looked and there was not a sign anywhere on the road prior to our discovery. It was a great lesson in reading all the signs when "off-roading". Glad I was paying attention.

    Diesel -

LC is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Maybe not the perfect fit for every driver out ther, but it is for me. It just keeps getting better. No complaints whatsoever
