Got a message last week about not turning down the short loads. mWe needed to stop being picky. Told us more freight than trucks. I was talking to a friend who is leased to Landstar and in 1 week the rates took a nose dive. (Supply and demand) Talked to my mentor and he told me he has had 2 34 resets in the last week or 2. Slim pick'ns out West.

I have had some nice long runs. I am hoping to get a long one when I get off home time.

I was trying have them change my comfort zone to 910, keep me West of the Mississippi. I hate going into NJ PA and MD.

Sucks that Swift should have to send that message out. If I were still OTR, there would never be a turned down load going through my QC.

When I go East they try to turn me into a local guy. 120-150mi runs that burn a whole day. Some are in NY near NYC. I turn them down. Out of my zone. I'll take them upstate not in the cram packed psycho areas.

I think the freight is pretty good. Although I have nothing to base that on except positive thoughts :)

I got jammed earlier this week with a little 164 mile two stop load in Los Angeles, but it as backed up with a nice load from Kern CA to Everett WA and another load from Everett WA to San Diego CA. I have just 8 hours left on my 70 - 44 miles away from final and about 75 miles from the Pilot in Otay Mesa where I will take a 34 after delivery.

Rug Trucker, I used to run 910. It's east of mississippi, no nyc no northeast. At least it used to be.

910 goes Tejas to Colorado to the Canadian border. East to the Atlantic, NJ, and PA, down to Key West.

Talked to my former instructors today. They said they caught a blurb somewhere predicting a 2-400,000 driver shortage early next year......hmmmmmmmm

What's this got to do with freight???:biggrin_25522:

I looked at Walmart, and at Radio Shack. Someone sells tuners. The Volvo is prewired with coax for a TV
