Do not work for knight transportation!!!

I left Knight in 2004. I drove out of the Denver terminal, not too long after they first opened it. I was there when the opened the terminal in Las Vegas.

I had what I would consider a good dispatcher. Unfortunately, he had nothing to say about what happened when I was out of his area, or when he was on days off or vacation.

I got sick and tired of looking for non-existent trailers, and not getting paid either time or mileage to do it. Burning up your driving hours and not getting paid anything for it, is a double penalty. You are working for free, AND you are cutting into the time you could be making money.

I got sick and tired of having to shop most of the trailers that I could find, before I could drag them. Again, that double penalty.

I got sick and tired of having my wife have to call payroll every week, because they tried to screw me out of money. My trip pac was ALWAYS submitted on time. But they always seemed to "overlook" most everything other than mileage pay. If they can get the mileage right, then they obviously got the trip pac, so there is no excuse for them screwing with the rest of your pay. They are just "salary saving," and drawing interest on the money they should be paying on time.

Any type of medical problem was a true Knightmare! Their insurance is the absolute worst that I have ever had the misfortune to be a part of.

I got sick and tired of having to make several local deliveries, (for less money than local drivers were being paid,) anytime I got anywhere near any metropolitan area.

Even back then, they were on everyone's case about idle time. And from what I am seeing and have heard in person from current Knight drivers, it is much worse now, than it was then.

So don't try to tell me how wonderful Knight is. It may be OK for you.

Hell, you might even be a driver for Knight. Then again, you may be a different sort of Knight employee.

 

I agree Big Don. I am glad the majority have enough pride to stand up for themselves.

 

Can someone, anyone please elaborate on this since Knighton won't be back for two weeks?

"Make sure your paid for your time" LOL what a sweet kid you are! I'm sure your parents are so proud to have raised such a subservient child.

Knight thrives on the time and efforts of good drivers, but your right they are a business and have to make money some way. The only way they know how I guess.

Can someone also please show the 99% of us whiners why we have it all wrong about Knight and a select few (two of them) are correct in their way of thinking that Knight is a perfectly honest employer and a great place to work.

Let's sit back and see how many happy Knight drivers are lurking here.......

 

Mr. Knighton, Im pretty sure,since I know about a dozen company and leased operators, thats what they are not 0/0s, like they want to think themselves as. I think he may be a product of the office tweeb, turned driver, I in fact, know one that was a dispatcher that is now driving in a leased truck from knight. Maybe its him, maybe its not but its a possibility. Hence his love for his dispatcher or there something else between the two of them, Ill leave it there. I have my own authourity and have used knight and others like knight to get backhauls or get something to get me to where I wanted to go for a real 0/0 load paying more than what these BIG companies pay their independent contractors. Ive heard for over 2 years now, knight et al and the horror stories from their drivers. They dont want to be working for these companies but its the economy stupid, as clinton said. Theres is such a huge turnover with knight and the rest because there filler jobs. A man or woman needs to support their families or a place to call home, in the truck until another better job comes up and when it does their gone, hence, orientiation all the time and a constant flow of newbies. KNIGHT AND THE REST are praying for the day the the mexican border opens and a million mexican drivers come north looking for work. Knighton 5 as I said before tells it all a KNIGHT DRIVER ON I-5 HENCE HIS NAME KNIGHT ON 5,He is in love with the company and I think he may even be a knight himself, sitting in an office typing his recruiter speeches, like he has been taught to do. Knight will never put anything in writing, email, or qualcom if it is anything that you can take them to court or the dot on. They always say, call me,well talk about it. My personal opinion of Knight THEY ARE THE WORST OF THE WORST.If you want to believe Knighton or the other 99% here with horror stories about Knight, its your call. If you go to work for them, youve been warned. PS listen to knightons words, DOES YOUR COMPANY HAVE APUS-THE DM IS SUPPOSE TO SAVE THE COMPANY MONEY, THE COMPANY IS GOD AND WE ARE HIS SERVANTS, this guy is a joke a bad joke. Unfortunaltely, theres way to many of them in this business.

 

I think he is playing the devils advocate for knight, why else would he post here, when he can post on the good things about knight, unless he has no good things to say about knight on that blog. I would bet he is a product of the knight school of confusion and deceitful applications. I would bet my bottom dollar he was a dispatcher or some knight desk jockey b4 he got behind the wheel of one of them big shiny red volvos. Ill bet his truck number is 127074

 

While I'm at it, I have been looking for youtube pictures or video of the rat infested hotels of Knight, Werner, Swift, England, etc that their students are staying in. Complete with pissed on toilet seats, stained mattresses, ####roaches, etc.

I can't find them any place. Please PM me a link if you got some video.

I'm not sayin that that don't go on and that these less than sanitary conditions exist, but if that was me, THR FIRST THING I would do is post some youtube video of those places where they house the CDL students as a warning to others to stay away from that there trucking company school.

 

The motels they all put you up in are not what you would car roach houses, there not first class but there not flop houses either. You get to stay at a motel 6 or something like that. Its an average motel. What I never liked about any orientation, was having to share a room with someone, I had no idea who they where. So, Id tell the company Ill pay the difference, I want my own room and they usually complied. Theres no one company that has it over another when it comes to motel rooms for oreintation.

 

Yeah, that makes sense. I don't think Motel 6 is "that" bad and they do leave the light on for you. But you know, this is trucking for chrissake and you can't expect the Waldorf Astoria with butt powder attendants plus wine and cheese room service all the while going to CDL class. I wouldn't share a room with another dude(s) I didn't know, that would be wierd.

 

For what ever reason, I did not have to share a motel room during my orientation with Knight. It just wasn't mentioned at all. I don't remember now which motel they used, but it certainly was "decent" with a "decent" chain restaurant right next door. Actually, orientation with Knight was one of the few things that I can't complain about during my time there!

Why not? You will be sharing a truck with another "dude", unless you think they are going to throw you the keys to a brand new frtshker because you just got your cdl.
