I picked up the last one(in bold) and I really like. Holds a lot, if you ask me.

I took my seabag full of clothes believe it or not I put in 30 days worth of clothes in there including cold and warm weather. I also brought a duffel bag with my shaving kit, tooth care and soaps shampoos etc along with dvd player and laptop and 400 watt power inverter. That stuff stayed up on the top bunk at the closet ends and never fell off. There was still plenty of room for me to sleep next to my gear. And I had some earplugs hanging above my head for easy access that I jammed into the wall stuffing in case my trainer decided to saw logs.

You are going to be OK with your stuff there. Like you said worse comes to worst, you can 'set free' some of your stuff.

Someone mentioned leaving some of your stuff in a locker at a terminal if need be. NO. I know a guy who got them to lock up his stuff for a few hours while we were in the process of getting our trucks checked out and loaded with flatbed gear. Someone with a key to the locked closet took his stuff within those few hours.

hey its like this as you can see there are numerous ways to do this. the best way is go as light as possible when you get ready to go on the truck. if your wife is dropping you she can pick up what you can't take if its too much or use UPS. I myself had one shelf in the truck if I could fit in there I could take it. or sleep with it. so I kept a small bag on the top bunk and slept with it. I did a lot of time in the Navy too and if you take a seabag as someone suggested trainer will throw you out! that's too much. Good luck relax and enjoy the fun you are about to begin having.

Marine Corps here, the seabag stayed up on the top bunk by my feet while I slept. Plenty of room - plus I just didn't know what I didn't know that's why I brought 30 days worth of clothes.

    Or UPS the rest home!
And you're assuming that you're actually going to have a "bed"! Please post the picture of what that thing looks like! The best one I've seen in a double bunk was the "black bag of surprise!" It's more like a really thin square sleeping bag filled with rags! More of a "cushion" if you will! Then there are the 2 foam blocks covered with plastic or the really thin springless mattress! I hope you have a roll of duct tape to tape your "bedding" on! That's why I advise everyone to leave bedding and sleeping bags at home till you get to the truck. Sleeping bags are expendable or can be thrown away if need arises! You don't need a -100* top of the line anything while training especially in the summer! Get a cheap square one for summer and by fall if this company does not allow idling then go get what you need.

From experience and watching drivers in the laundry mats, sleeping bags don't wash all that well. And they need to be washed as they can get rank beyond your wildest imagination! High dollar ones might wash better but why have something like that in the truck for some moron to steal. Yes there is no honor among truckers if they see something they like or the same with a thief! OK pull the panties out of the wad! There ARE some drivers that will steal from their "best friend" if they can! I've seen it!

What I'm saying is buy a cheap-o bag. Sleep with it on the trainers bunk while driving as it's a lot safer and not as much movement down there as up there in the top bunk and that roof during the day can radiate some heat which in winter is nice but Phoenix during the summer not so! Sleep is what you're looking for!

If it washes and comes out with out bunching good BUT! if something comes up and you:Get fired, medical emergency at home, quit or just need to bail out of the truck that sleeping bag can stay behind. Why pay $50. for extra baggage for a $50 bag? Heck why pay for the extra anyway!
As I keep saying. If it doesn't fit in the big bag you don't need it!
