Well i dont have to worry about that KW 900. Lease on that baby is $550/wk. WAY too much. Still looking 3rd party...of if i can find a nice T2k with options, i might go that route. $200 a month diff. between a 2008 T2000 and a 2010 KW 900.

Yes I am a newbee. I use a MAP and a GPS. The company give me a route to follow, I always write it down and look at the entire route on road atlas just to get the big picture. Then I program the GPS and start my trip.

My mentor had the satellite radio too, but he kept the antennae up on the dash but the signal was so intermittent. When I went solo I did that for a while too then put it up on the top front shelf looking out the top bay window up there and it improved some, depending on what direction I was driving. Like if I was in California heading west it would cut in and out or Texas going south same problem til I zip tied it to the outside mirror top mount.

In the T2000 you'd have to put the key in the ON position to activate the front dash 12 volt plugs which is annoying because now all the dash lights are running, fans, just everything electrical in the truck unnecessarily depleting the batteries.

I like music 24 hours in the truck.Even in my house I had the home theater set up to play the cable or satellite music stations even when the tv was turned off 24 hours a day. I figure I'm paying for it, might as well get full value. Plus I hate a silent house. I hate eating at other people's houses when dinner time comes they insist on turning off the tv and all you can hear is everyone masticating their food like so many cattle.

Another thing about the T2000 I hated was that the fan blower could not be shut off. For instance say I'm comfortable with the temperature I will want to turn off the fan. But it continues to blow out air in the off position and there is no way to shut down the vents. So I have to redirect the air flow to the floor and adjust the temp to be comfortable otherwise (my mentor always made me drive at night) my eyes would get so dried out and fatigued. Part of that was due to the extremely bright dash display that cannot be turned to a softer glow. So my eyes were constantly having to adjust from super bright dash lights to super dark road. The headlights suck; I'd have to put them on bright to see anything.

With the Volvo I can turn the dash lights way down, turn the fan completely off if I want to, see at night with the headlights just fine, zip tied my radio to the overhead compartment so a quick look up and short reach I can see who's playing or change very conveniently.

I'm very curious about the Prostar though otherwise would be in the market to purchase a Volvo since I already know how they perform.

I'm getting 8.9 MPG in the Volvo but that is mostly due to hanging out in the Great Plains states for a couple weeks.

Where did you hear Prostar is very heavy? Mine is a somewhat customized 2011 Condo. With me, my dog, all of our junk and full tanks, my bobtail scales at 18,800, which is 1K or more less than the Cascadia I was driving. I have dual 150 gallon tanks on this, 100's on the Freightliner.

I am right now averaging 7.5 for the week and have been running Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and am right now in Virginia. The loads this week have been in the 40K range. I have Cummins ISX 435hp with an Eaton-Fuller 13 behind it.

Solar panels generally don't put out enough current to run much of anything...

I've seen folks run an inverter off of the jumpstart terminals on the frame, and let it sit on the catwalk; just gotta remember to take the thing off when you're ready to go.

Dude, you're going to have to make $8300 per month to break even on the leased truck. At 2500 miles a week you'll make around $2900 a week and $11600 per month. Deducted from this will be your insurance and other admin expernses totalling around $600; fuel $4300; truck payment of $2200; maintenance: $600 and taxes $600. Whats left is $3300. This is the reason i say you have to train other drivers if you want to make good money with through leasing. I've talked to drivers who train who tell me they are seeing about 21000 miles per month by training. Doing this would more than double the $3300 you'd get driving a solo lease.

    Hope this helps.
